Musharraf asks nation to observe unity in fighting extremism







ISLAMABAD, Mar 21 (APS): President Pervez Musharraf has urged the nation to observe unity and act as a force to effectively fight extremism. “On the blessed day of Eid Milad un Nabi, let us observe unity in our ranks because it is the force which can effectively help us counter extremist views,” President Musharraf said in his message to nation on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
President Musharraf felicitated the nation on Eid Milad un Nabi and said one should live his life according to the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the balanced teachings of Islam by rising above personal and sectarian interests.
“We should pledge to promote great human values and strive for ensuring law and morality,” he said.
The President said Eid Milad un Nabi is a special occasion because on this day, Allah Almighty blessed the humanity with ‘Rehmatul Lil Alameen’ (blessing for all the worlds), who is a source of benediction for mankind.
“On this day, the distressed humanity was heralded with great blessing. In this regard, the day is absolutely a moment of celebration and joy,” he added.
He said the basic focus of the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) is the supremacy of Allah’s commandments and torestore the honour of humanity.
“The personality of Hazrat Muhammad ( Peace Be Upon Him) is a beacon for mankind, whose every ray gives the message of welfare and noble values.”
The President said as Muslims, it is our duty to follow the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and observe the true, glowing and great lessons of Islam.
“We should not prefer personal interests over human, national and state interests,” he said.
