Soha Ali Khan held guilty, gun license cancelled

Gurgaon: Actress Soha Ali Khan was Thursday held guilty of suppressing facts while seeking renewal of her gun license, and also of allowing misuse of her weapon by her father, former cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, allegedly in killing a blackbuck.
District Magistrate Rakesh Gupta cancelled her gun license under section 17 of the Arms Act and ordered a further inquiry into the case. “Soha can file appeal against this order in the divisional commissioner's court within 30 days. The Jhajjar police would also be informed about the decision, with the request not to release Soha's rifle to her,” Gupta said in his judgement.The rifle, which was allegedly misused by Pataudi in the blackbuck poaching, is at present in the custody of the Jhajjar police.Gupta said Soha was issued the arms license in November 1996 when she was below the legal age to acquire it. The responsibility could not be fixed because the original file on the issuance of her gun licence is missing.Replying to a question, Gupta said had the Jhajjar police informed the Gurgaon administration about the seizure of Soha's rifle in the poaching case, the administration would not have renewed her license. “We would inform the home department about this lapse on the part of the Jhajjar police. But it was the duty of the actress to inform the district administration that her rifle was in police custody at the time of the renewal. The actress knowingly suppressed this fact, hence she is guilty,” the district magistrate added. The actress has been charged with obtaining an arms license for her .22 bore rifle Nov 5, 1996, when she had not completed 21 years of age - a legal pre-requisite.The passport record of Soha, daughter of Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore, put her year of birth at 1978, which meant in 1996 she was 18.The Gurgaon district authorities also sent her a notice demanding an explanation about how the weapon for which she was licensed was used by her father to kill a blackbuck in Haryana's Jhajjar district in 2005. Pataudi was arrested for poaching the protected species animal, and the carcass was seized. The poaching case, registered June 5, 2005, is being tried in a wildlife and environment court in Faridabad town in Haryana.

UN suspends Myanmar flights after seizure

YANGON - The U.N. food agency suspended aid flights to cyclone-struck Myanmar on Friday after the military government seized two deliveries at Yangon airport, apparently determined to distribute supplies on its own.
The shipments of 38 tonnes of high-energy biscuits, enough to feed 95,000 people, were intended to be loaded on trucks and sent to the inundated Irrawaddy delta where most of the estimated 1.5 million victims need help.
"We're going to have to shut down our very small airlift operation until we get guarantees from the authorities that we'll be able to have the food when it arrives," U.N. World Food Programme regional director Tony Banbury told CNN.
"I am furious. It is unacceptable."
Governments around the world have been pressing Myanmar's ruling generals to open the country's borders to desperately-needed assistance and on Friday, Germany said it agreed with a proposal by France to use the U.N. Security Council.
The official death toll remains at nearly 23,000, with 42,119 people missing. Experts fear it could be as high as 100,000 in what is the worst cyclone to hit Asia since 1991, when 143,000 people were killed in Bangladesh.
The Myanmar government has stated its preference through the state-run media that it would accept "relief in cash and kind" but not foreign aid workers.
"It should be on trucks headed to the victims. You've seen the conditions they are in. That food is now sitting on a tarmac doing no good," Banbury said.
Planes loaded with food and equipment from several Asian countries have landed in Yangon in the past few days and two flights with supplies from the WFP.
"Myanmar is not in a position to receive rescue and information teams from foreign countries at the moment," a foreign ministry statement published in state-run newspapers said. "But at present Myanmar is giving priority to receiving relief aid and distributing them to the storm-hit regions with its own resources."
Impasse
In another sign of the impasse between the military rulers and countries eager to kick start a major international relief operation, the prime minister of neighbouring Thailand cancelled a planned trip there this weekend.
"After they said today they would not welcome foreign staff, there is no point of me going there," said Samak Sundaravej who had been urged by the United States and Britain to try and open the doors.
With saltwater ruining wells, grain stores and rice fields, the relief task ahead will be enormous. The United Nations estimates at least 1.5 million people out of a population of 53 million are "severely affected" -- needing food and shelter.
Survivors have been mostly fending for themselves in the swampy delta after Cyclone Nargis packing winds of up to 190 kph (120 mph) last Saturday whipped up a massive wall of sea-water that hurtled through the low-lying Irrawaddy Delta.
Children were the most vulnerable when the storm struck the delta, known as "Asia's rice bowl" in British colonial times.
UNICEF, the U.N. children's fund which has staff in Myanmar, was using commercial flights to send in supplies, spokeswoman Shantha Bloemen said.
"We have been buying what we can locally, but we are planning to send more supplies in over the next few days," she said. "But we can't confirm when those flights will be sent in."
Corpses dot the delta
Bloated corpses bobbing in canals or spreadeagled on riverbanks littered the delta. Reuters witnesses saw seven along a 5-km (3-mile) stretch from the delta town of Labutta.
Farmer Tei Lin said he had seen hundreds of bodies in the past week. "It's so difficult. Many of them are badly decomposed," he said through an interpreter.

Pakistan frees Baluch leader to bring peace

KARACHI - Pakistan's new government freed a prominent ethnic Baluch leader Friday as it tries to forge reconciliation in the restive southwest of the country.
Jubilant supporters crowded Sardar Akhtar Mengal, chief of Baluchistan National Party, as he was released from a Karachi hospital, where he was detained because of ill health.
Mengal was arrested in August 2006, accused of torturing two military intelligence officials. Supporters claimed the accusations were politically motivated.
Senior security official Arif Ahmed Khan said charges against Mengal have been withdrawn.
Pakistan's newly elected civilian government says it wants to promote dialogue with ethnic leaders in impoverished Baluchistan, scene of a long-running insurgency.
The former government of President Pervez Musharraf launched military operations against Baluch rebels, who are fighting for more autonomy and a greater share of the revenues from natural gas and other resources extracted from the region.
Tens of thousands of people have been displaced by the fighting, which is separate from the struggle between Islamic militants and security forces further north along the Afghan frontier.
An unknown number of Baluch activists are suspected held by Pakistani intelligence agencies.
“My release is victory of democracy,' Mengal told reporters after his release. “We never compromised on our principles with a dictator and did not bow before Musharraf.'
“But my release is not an issue. The issue is the thousands of people who are missing and under detention of law enforcement agencies,' he said. “Our struggle is for the autonomy of the province and Baluch control over our resources.'
The release of Mengal, a former chief minister of Baluchistan, came days after Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani traveled to the province. After talks with government officials and ethnic Baluch leaders, he ordered the withdrawal of all the charges against Mengal.
Authorities have previously accused the Baluchistan National Party of links to militants that launch attacks on security forces. The party denies involvement and says it is committed to political struggle.
Despite the peace overtures, suspected Baluch rebels have intensified attacks on police and security officials.

BEIRUT - Lebanon's Iranian-backed Hezbollah took control of the Muslim part of Beirut on Friday, tightening its grip on the city in a major blow to the U.S.-backed government.
Security sources said at least 11 people had been killed and 30 wounded in three days of battles between pro-government gunmen and fighters loyal to Hezbollah, a Shi'ite political movement with a powerful guerrilla army.
The Europea_ Union, Germany and France urged calm and a peaceful resolution. Syria said the issue was an internal Lebanese affair while Iran blamed "the adventurist interferences" of the United States and Israel for the violence.
The fighting, the worst internal strife since the 1975-90 civil war, was triggered this week after the government took decisions targeting Hezbollah's military communications network. The group said the government had declared war.
In scenes reminiscent of the darkest days of the civil war, young men armed with assault rifles roamed the streets amid smashed cars and smouldering buildings.
The sound of exploding grenades and automatic gunfire echoed thoughout the night across a city still rebuilding from the 1975-90 conflict. By mid-morning the fighting had died down and Hezbollah and allied fighters were in control as loyalists put down their weapons.
The dead included a woman and her 30-year-old son, who were killed when trying to flee Ras al-Nabae -- a mixed Sunni-Shi'ite Beirut district and scene of some of the heaviest clashes.
"They were trying to flee to the mountains. Instead ... they reached the hospital, dead," said a relative of the victims, who declined to give her name because of security fears.
"It was terrifying during the night. We couldn't even move about in the house," said another woman -- a resident of Ras al-Nabae who had fled the area at first light with her children. "We spent the night in the corridor."
Saudi Arabia, a strong backer of the governing coalition, called for an emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers over the crisis, Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television reported.
A pro-government leader called for dialogue.
"The party, regardless of its military strength, cannot annul the other," Walid Jumblatt, leader of the Druze minority, told LBC television station from his home in Beirut. "Dialogue alone brings results. Running away from dilogue is not useful."
Blow to government
Hezbollah gunmen took control of media outlets owned by governing coalition leader Saad al-Hariri, Lebanon's strongest Sunni politician. Hariri's television and radio stations went off the air.
Hezbollah, a Shi'ite group also backed by Syria, had been steadily seizing offices of pro-government factions in the predominantly Muslim western half of the city.

The Speaker said that greater exchange of Parliamentary delegations was necessary to further strengthening relations between Iran and Pakistan. EDUCATION MINISTER ATTENDED A CONFERENCE ON GERMAN EDUCATION SYSTEM IN BONN, GERMANY

The Federal Minister for Education Professor Ahsan Iqbal participated in a Conference of the Ministers of Education and Culture Affairs of the Lander (provinces) in the Federal Public of Germany in Bonn. The Conference was organized to discuss German Education System and the roles and powers of the states (provinces) and the Federal Ministry. A special presentation was given on the different streams leading to different educational carriers i.e. vocational, middle level professional and tertiary educations existing in Germany. The conference also focused on over all German School System, administration and roles/powers of the different levels, quality management, quality assurance, curriculum development and inter-state coordination.
The Minister met with Mr. Kurt Schmitz Temming, Vice Managing Director of Rihne-Sieg Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bonn, Germany. During the meeting special presentation was given to the Minister on German technical and vocational education system and the role played by Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The Minister also visited Hardtberg Gymnasium (Grammar School for Grade 5 to 12 for talented students) where the Principal of the School briefed him about administration, staffing, teaching material, involvement of parents, library and computer equipment. Later the Minister visited a primary school (Grade 1 – 4) where he was briefed about the administration, staffing, learning material, and involvement of parents in the learning process of the Children in the German system.

Improvement of national economy, law and order top priority: PM

LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday said that improving national economy and law and order across the country was the top priority of the government. Briefly talking to media at the Lahore Airport after his arrival from Islamabad, he said that the issue of reinstatement of judges would be solved. “Let us see the outcome of the meeting being held between top leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in London”.The Prime Minister’s son Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani was also present on the occasion.
Responding to a question, the Prime Minister said that 100-day plan announced by him was being implemented and all issues confronting the nation would be addressed according to the commitment.
He said that all-out efforts were being made to solve the acute power shortage problem, check the high inflation, control the hike in prices of daily edibles and strengthen the national economy on top priority.
In response to question about the energy crisis, he said it would take some time to overcome it.
He said the government firmly believed in freedom of press and “we will ensure it.”
About the convening of the National Assembly session on May 12, he said it would be convened when the party command desired so.

Govt committed to redressing the grievances of the people of Balochistan: PM

ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday said the government was committed to redressing the grievances of the people of Balochistan and reiterated that steps were being taken to improve the situation. Talking Governor Balochistan Zulfiqar Ali Magsi and Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raeesani at the PM House, the Prime Minister said a new strategy was being formulated in consultation with representatives of the provincial government for dealing with the issue of law and order in the province.He said the political forces in the province have to play a role in this regard as it would improve the security and protection of the citizens.
The Governor and Chief Minister Balochistan also briefed the Prime Minister about the supply situation of wheat and flour in Balochistan.
The government’s decision of providing 100,000 tons of additional wheat to the province for meeting its requirements was also appreciated by the entire population of the province.
The Prime Minister said the government was keeping a close watch on the wheat situation all over the country and would provide more wheat to Balochistan, if required.
He directed the provincial government in coordination with law enforcement agencies to take steps for stopping smuggling of wheat across the border.

Provincial govts. to be consulted on reforms: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday said all provincial governments and concerned organizations should be taken onboard and consulted on the report of the National Commission for Government Reforms.
Chairing a high level meeting here, he said that the the commission’s recommendations would be debated in the National Assembly to achieve the desired result of good governance and better delivery of services to the common man.
The chairman of the commission, Dr. Ishrat Hussain, presented the interim report at the meeting along with recommendations.
Prime Minister Gilani emphasised that refroms in any sector should be aimed at benefiting the common people.
“Redressing grievances and minimizing the difficulties of the people is our ultimate goal which needs to be kept in view while formulating these reforms,” he added.
He also underlined the need of changing the “Thana” culture by making it people-friendly with focus on resolving the problems of the people.
The government, he said, was promoting e-government system to ensure speedy delivery of government business and restoring people’s confidence in the elected government, in addition to ensuring general public’s access to information.
On provincial autonomy, Prime Minister Gilani said that he has already announced the abolition of concurrent list within one year and expressed the confidence that this would lead to resolving the problems of the people at the local level.
He also called for the including jail reforms in the report to address the problems being confronted by the inmates.
The Prime Minister underlined the need for the replacement of centuries old “Patwari” system by using modern technology and learning from the experiences of the developed world aimed at facilitating the masses and eradicating corruption.
He said the government is also focusing on improving the social services across the country and will extend all possible resources for the provision of education and health to the people.
The reforms, he said, also need to focus on better management of the social sector both administratively and professionally.
Earlier, in his presentation, Dr. Ishrat Hussain briefed the Prime Minister about the salient features and recommendations of the report.
The interim report on reforms presented to the Prime Minister says it will improve governance and efficiency of the government servants towards resolving people’s problems.
Prime Minister Gilani said that since parliament is the supreme forum for making policy decisions, the report should be thoroughly deliberated upon in the National Assembly after due consultation with all the four provinces.
The final approval of the recommendations, he added, would later be given by the Federal Cabinet.

Nine killed 17 injured as trawler overturns in Pabbi

PESHAWAR : An over-speeding container trawler turned turtle on main G.T. Road in Pabbi bazaar and rammed into the footpath killing nine persons and injuring seventeen others.
A Suzuki car was also crushed in the tragic episode. According to police sources, nine persons have been killed who were standing on the footpath.
The driver of the Peshawar bound trawler lost control over the steering after its tie rod broken in the congested bazaar.
Several people were trapped under the trawler. Police and rescue teams carried out rescue operations at the site.
The injured have been shifted Pabbi Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar and admitted where condition of many injured was stated to be stable.
The names of seven dead identified are Mirajuddin Khan son of Sherian, Ali Shah son of Zahir Shah residents of Amankot, Muhammad Habib resident of Zakhel, Hameedullah Khan son of Atiqullah resident of Khan Sher Garhi, girl Neemra daughter of Noor Muhammad resident of Jehangira, Amaan Khan son of Abdus Sattar Khan resident of Kandi Tazadin and Fazal Amin son of Sattar Muhammad resident of Chowki Mumraz.
The injured identified are Khalid son of Sirajuddin resident of Aman Kot, Rais Khan son of Mukaram Khan resident of Pabbi, Asma daughter of Javed resident of Dagai Jadeed, Amin son of Alam Gul resident of Pabbi, Asiya wife of Javed resident of Dagai Qadeem, Zahida wife of Kaleemullah resident of Aman Garh, Pervez resident of Swat, Noor Qadar resident of Swat, Wajahat resident of Aman Kot, Nawaz son of Gul Rehman, Bahar Ali, Fazal Muhammad, Ayaz and Fazal Mehmmod.
Meanwhile the NWFP Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti expressed his deep shock and grief over the loss of precious lives in the road accident In a statement issued here, the Chief Minister directed the hospital’s administration to give special care and attention to the treatment of wounded.
The Chief Minister while expressing his sympathies with the members of bereaved families has prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to them to bear this irreparable loss with patience and fortitude. The Chief Minister also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

The confidence building measures (CBMs) with India are working well and Pakistan has improved relations with its neighbour.
The relations needed to be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of the two sides, he stressed.
He underlined the need to build trust with India. He said easy cross the border movement and increase in bilateral trade will bring the two countries together.He was hopeful that Kashmir issue would be resolved.
He said Pakistan has adopted a multidimensional approach to stem the tide of terrorism through negotiations and economic development.
Pakistan is keen on countering real issues like poverty, ignorance and sense of deprivation, the Minister added.

اسلام آباد۔ وفاقی وزیر قانون فاروق ایچ نائیک نے کہا ہے کہ 12 مئی کو ججوں کی بحالی کے لیے قومی اسمبلی کا اجلاس ہوتا نظر نہیں آرہا ۔ ججوں کی بحالی کی قرا رداد پیش کرنے کے لیے سینٹ اور قومی اسمبلی کا مشترکہ اجلاس طلب کرنا ہو گا جو صرف صدرہی بلا سکتے ہیں اور اگر ججوں کی تعداد بڑھانا ہوئی تو صدارتی آرڈنینس کے ذریعے ہو گی تو بھی صرف صدر ہی آرڈنینس جاری کر سکتے ہیں ۔ آج پارلیمنٹ ہاؤس میں ذرائع ابلاغ سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے ا نہوں نے کہا کہ ججوں کی بحالی کی قرار داد پارلیمنٹ میںپیش کی جائے گی اور آئین کے مطابق پارلیمنٹ سے مراد قومی اسمبلی اور سینٹ دونون ہیں ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس کے لیے سینٹ اور قومی اسمبلی کا مشترکہ اجلاس بلانا ہوگا جس کا اختیار صدر کے پاس ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ قرار داد سے بحال کرنے کی جب بات کی جاتی ہے تو اس کے دو طریقے سامنے آرہے ہیں ۔ پہلا تو یہ کہ پارلیمنٹ کے دونوں ایوانوںکا مشترکہ اجلاس صدر طلب کریں اور دوسرا طریقہ یہ ہے کہ آئین کے آرٹیکل 89 کے تحت صدر کے ذریعے آرڈنینس لایا جائے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ جو تحفظات باقی تھے اس کے حوالے سے پارٹی سربراہان فیصلہ کریں گے اور جیسے ہی یہ تحفظات دور ہوئے ہیں اجلاس کے لیے سمری بھجوادوں گا ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اگر تمام لوگ موجودہ اور سابقہ سب ججوں کو قبول کرلیں تو سپریم کورٹ ججز ایکٹ کو تبدیل کرنا پڑے گا اس کے لیے بھی صدارتی آرڈنینس لانا ہو گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اب معاملہ کمیٹی سے نکل کر پارٹی سربراہوںکے پاس جا چکا ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بارہ مئی تک تمام کارروائی مکمل کرکے قومی اسمبلی کا سیشن کال کرنے کی کوشش کریںگے لیکن مجھے قومی اسمبلی کا اجلاس بارہ مئی تک ہوتا نظر نہیں آتا کیونکہ تحفظات ابھی باقی ہیں ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیراعظم نے مجھے کہا ہے کہ کچھ چیزوں کے حوالے سے فوری اقدامات کیے جائیں اور چھوٹے صوبوں کے تحفظات دور کیے جائیں ان کی دل آزاری ختم کی جائے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیراعظم نے قیدیوں کے حوالے سے بھی قانون سازی کے حوالے سے کہا ہے اور نیب کے کالے قوانین کو بھی تبدیل کرنے کے حوالے سے مجھے ہدایت کی ہے ایک سوال پر انہوں نے کہا کہ صدر پارلیمنٹ سے خطاب کیوں نہیں کرتے یہ ان سے پوچھا جائے

جج بھی بحال کریں گے اور دوسرے مسائل بھی حل ہوں گے جیسے ہی لیڈر اشارہ کریں گے قومی اسمبلی کا اجلاس بلا لیا جائے گا۔وزیراعظم

لاہور۔ وزیر اعظم سید یوسف رضا گیلانی نے کہا ہے کہ عوام نے ہمیں عدلیہ کی آزادی ججوں کی بحالی اور معیشت کی بحالی سمیت تمام چیزوں کا مینڈیٹ دیا ہے ۔ ہماری اولین ترجیح ملک میں امن و امان اور اقتصادی بحران پر قابو پانا ہے ۔ججوں کا مسئلہ بھی حل ہو گا اور ہم دوسرے مسائل بھی حل کریں گے، لیڈر جیسے کہیں گے قومی اسمبلی کا اجلاس طلب کرلیا جائے گا ۔ ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے وزیر اعظم منتخب ہونے کے بعد 3 روزہ دورے پر لاہور پہنچنے پر لاہور ایئرپورٹ پر میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا ۔ قبل ازیں وزیر اعظم کے طیارے نے لاہور ایئرپورٹ پر لینڈ کیا توان کا استقبال گورنر پنجاب لیفٹیننٹ جنرل (ر) خالد مقبول ، پنجاب کے سینئر صوبائی وزیر راجہ ریاض مسلم لیگ کے رہنما و صوبائی وزیر قانون رانا ثناء اللہ، صوبائی وزیر میاں مجتبی شجاع الرحمن ، منیر احمد ،سمیع اللہ اور پیپلز پارٹی کے دوسرے رہنماؤں نے کیا ۔ وزیر اعظم نے میڈیا سے مختصر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ججوں کی بحالی کیلئے قرار داد پر دونوں جماعتوں کے لیڈر غور کر رہے ہیں ۔ مجھے جیسے ہی اشارہ ملے گا قومی اسمبلی کا اجلاس بلا لوں گا ۔ اس سوال پر کہ کیا جج 12 مئی کو بحال ہو جائیں گے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ آج دونوں لیڈر مل رہے ہیں ان کی جانب سے آؤٹ کم تو آجانے دیں آپ اطمینان رکھیں جج بھی بحال ہوں گے اور قوم سے کئے گئے دوسرے وعدے بھی پورے کئے جائیں گے ۔ حکومت کی 100 دن کی ترجیحات کے نتائج نہ آنے سے متعلق سوال کے جواب میں وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ ابھی 100 دن پورے نہیں ہوئے اگر جج بحال ہوجائیں تو یہ بھی 100 دن کے ا ندر ہی ہوں گے ۔ صوبائی خود مختاری کا مسئلہ بھی ہے، طلبہ اور لیبر یونین کی بحالی بھی کرنی ہے، پیمرا کے سیاہ قوانین کا خاتمہ بھی کرنا ہے ،گندم کے بحران سے بھی نمٹنا ہے کم از کم ان سو دن کے اندر عوام کو آٹا ملنا تو شروع ہوجانا چاہیے ۔ بجلی کے بحران پر قابو پانے سے متعلق سوال کے جواب میں انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ بحران اس قدر جلد حل نہیں ہوگا ۔میں اس وقت ہر بات کا تفصیلی جواب نہیں دے سکتا، انشاء اللہ تعالی ترجیحی بنیادوں پر امن و امان اور معیشت سمیت درپیش تمام مسائل کا حل کیا جائے گا ۔

امریکہ کو پاکستانی عوام کی رائے کا احترام کر نا چاہیے۔ عمران خان

اسلام آباد ۔ پاکستان تحریک انصاف کے چیئر مین عمران خان نے کہا ہے کہ امریکہ کو پاکستانی عوام کی رائے کا احترام کر نا چاہیے پارٹی کے مرکزی دفتر میں میڈیا سیل سے گفتگو کر تے ہوئے انہو ںنے کہا کہ 18 فروری کو عوام نے واضح طور پر صدر مشرف اور ان کی پالیسیوں کو مسترد کر دیا ہے امریکہ کو فرد واحد کی حمایت کر نے کی بجائے پاکستان میں عوام دوست پالیسیوں کی حمایت کرنی چاہیے امریکہ کی دوغلی پالیسیوں کی وجہ سے پاکستان میں امریکہ کے خلاف نفرت میں بتدریج اضافہ ہو رہا ہے ایک طرف امریکہ دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ کے نام پر اربوں ڈالر خرچ کر رہا ہے جبکہ دوسری جانب ایم کیو ایم جو ایک فاشٹ تنظیم ہے جسے کینیڈین کورٹ نے بھی ایک دہشت گرد تنظیم قرار دیا ہے کے ساتھ امریکی حکام پاکستان میں ملاقاتیں کر رہے ہیں اور امریکی مداخلت پر ہی ایم کیو ایم کو حکومت میں شامل کیا گیا امریکی حکام م کو چاہیے کہ پاکستان میں جمہوریت اور مضبوط اداروں کو سپورٹ کیا جائے نہ کہ ایک آمر کے ہاتھ مضبوط کیے جائیں

ججوں کی بحالی کے بعد پارلیمنٹ آئینی پیکج لانا چاہے تو یہ اس کا حق ہے ‘ اعتزاز احسن

اسلام آباد ۔ سپریم کورٹ بار کے صدر بیرسٹر اعتزاز احسن نے کہا ہے کہ 3 نومبر کے تمام اقدامات غیر آئینی تھے اور آئین کی نظر میں کوئی اقدام یا تو آئینی ہو سکتا ہے یا غیر آئینی ماورائے آئین اقدام کی کوئی اصطلاع قابل قبول نہیں ہو سکتی ۔ ایک انٹرویو میں انہوں نے کہا کہ کسی فرد واحد کو یہ اختیار نہیں کہ وہ اعلیٰ عدلیہ کے ججوں کو برطرف کر سکے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ قرار داد کا مسودہ تیار ہو چکا ہے جس کے تحت ججوں کو غیر مشروط طور پر بحال کیا جانا چاہئے اس کے بعد اگر پارلیمنٹ کوئی آئینی پیکج لانا چاہے تو یہ اس کا حق ہے ۔ اعتزاز احسن نے کہا کہ عوام کی خواہش کے برعکس عدلیہ کی آزادی پر قدغن عائد کرنا درست اقدام نہیں ہو گا ۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں انہوں نے کہا کہ ضمنی انتخابات میں وہ ضرور حصہ لیں گے ۔

ججوں کی بحالی سے متعلق ١٢ مئی آخری ڈیڈ لائن ہے ۔ چوہدری نثار علی

اسلام آباد۔ مسلم لیگ(ن) کے رہنما اور سینئر وفاقی وزیر چوہدری نثار علی خان نے کہا ہے کہ ججوں کی بحالی کے حوالے سے 12 مئی آخری ڈید لائن ہے اورا گر یہ فیصلہ اس دن نہ ہوا تو ان کی جماعت وہی کرے گی جو اسے کرنا چاہیئے۔ جمعہ کو یہاں میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے چوہدری نثار علی خان نے کہا کہ ججوں کی بحالی کے حوالے سے میعاد میں بارہ مئی تک توسیع بھی کوئی مناسب فیصلہ نہیں تھا۔ ا ور اس سے مزید آگے بڑھنے کا کوئی جواز ہی نہیں ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اگر 12 مئی کو اس حوالے سے فیصلہ نہ ہوا تو مسلم لیگ(ن) وہی کچھ کرے گی جو اسے کرنا ہے ۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں چوہدری نثار علی خان نے کہا کہ مسلم لیگ(ن) 12 مئی کی کمٹمنٹ کے حوالے سے سنجیدہ ہے ۔ اسی لیے اپنے تمام ارکان قومی اسمبلی کو اسلام آباد بلا لیا گیا ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بارہ مئی کو گیارہ بجے ہمارا اجلاس ہو گا اور اگر وعدے کے مطابق اس دن قومی اسمبلی کا اجلاس بلالیا گیا تو ہم اسمبلی میں جائیں گے ورنہ فیصلہ اس اجلاس میں کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تیس دنوں کے بعد بارہ مئی اور اب اگر قانونی پیچیدگیوں میں الجھانے کی کوشش کی گئی تو مسلم لیگ(ن) اپنا حتمی فیصلہ کرے گی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ موجودہ کے مستقبل کا فیصلہ مسلم لیگ(ن) کا مطالبہ نہیں ہے ہم تو معزول ججوں کو بحال کرانا چاہتے ہیں۔

نواز شریف نے امریکہ کی ہاں میں ہاں نہ ملائی تو ان کا انجام سابق حکمرانوں جیسا ہو سکتا ہے ‘ حمید گل

اسلام آباد ۔ آئی ایس آئی کے سابق سربراہ جنرل حمید گل نے کہا ہے کہ اگر نواز شریف نے امریکہ کی ہاں میں ہاں نہ ملائی تو خوانخواستہ ان کا انجام بھی سابق حکمرانوں جیسا ہو سکتا ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ امریکہ کو اپنے ڈالر عزیز ہیں لیکن اس کے سامنے پاکستانیوں کے خون کی کوئی اہمیت نہیں ہے ۔ ایک نجی ٹیلی ویژن سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے امریکی سفیر کے بیان پر ردعمل میں جنرل ( ر ) حمید گل نے کہا کہ امریکی سفیر کے بیان سے پہلے یورپی یونین کے عہدیدار ہاؤیر سولانا بھی اسی طرح کی بات کر چکے ہیں ۔ امریکی سفیر نے کہاتھا کہ پرویز مشرف پاکستان کے صدر ہیں اور اب اس معاملے کو چھوڑ کر آگے بڑھنا چاہئے ۔ جنرل ( ر ) حمید گل نے کہا کہ امریکی سفیر اور یورپی یونین کے ان بیانات سے ظاہر ہوتا ہے کہ کچھ معاہدات ضرور ہوئے ہیں جو تاحال منظر عام پر نہیں آئے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ بڑی بدقسمتی ہے کہ پاکستان کی تقدیر بدلنے جا رہی ہے لیکن پاکستانی قوم کو ان معاہدات کے بارے میں کوئی علم نہیں ہے ۔ کیا ان معاہدات میں درج ہے کہ پرویز مشرف صدر رہیں گے ۔ معاہدات کے ضمانتی کون ہیں ۔ دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ جاری رہے گی ۔ امریکہ کو مراعات ملتی رہیں گی اور پاکستان کے ایٹمی پروگرام کی تنصیبات کی نگرانی امریکہ کرتا رہے گا ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس طرح کے اور بھی بہت سے سوال ہیں کہ جن کا قوم کو کوئی جواب نہیں مل رہا ہے ۔ تاہم حمید گل نے کہا کہ گاہے گاہے ہمیں وہاں سے اشارے ملتے رہتے ہیں اور اسی طرح کا ایک بہت بڑا اشارہ اب امریکی کانگرس نے دیا ہے کہ پاکستان وہ کردار ادا نہیں کر رہا جو اسے کرنا چاہئے اور یہاں تک کہا گیا ہے کہ نواز شریف راہ راست پر نہیں آ رہے ۔ حمید گل نے کہا کہ یہ ایک انتہائی خوفناک بات ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ لگتا ہے اگر نواز شریف امریکہ کی توقعات پر پورا نہیں اترتے تو پھر نواز شریف کے ساتھ وہی سلوک کیا جائے جیسا کہ بے نظیر بھٹو ‘ جنرل ضیاء الحق ، ذوالفقار علی بھٹو اور لیاقت علی خان سے کیا گیا ۔ اور جو بھی انکار کرے گا اسے کہنا پڑے گا کہ ’’ فرینڈ، ناٹ ماسٹرز ‘‘ لیکن اس وقت بہت دیر ہو چکی ہو گی ۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں حمید گل نے کہا کہ پیپلزپارٹی کے راہنما چونکہ معاہدات کے مطابق چل رہے ہیں جبکہ اس سے پہلے بے نظیر بھٹو نے تو معاہدات سے بغاوت کر دی تھی ۔ انہوں نے زور دے کر کہا کہ یہ جاننے کی ضرورت ہے کہ یہ معاہدات کیا ہیں کیونکہ معاہدات کے سرعام نہ آنے سے پاکستانی پارلیمنٹ قوم کے مینڈیٹ ‘ آزادی اور حاکمیت اعلیٰ پر حرف آتے ہیں ۔ جنرل ( ر ) حمید گل نے کہا کہ یا تو ہمارے لیڈر اپنے آپ کو ان معاہدات سے الگ کریں اور راستے میں تبدیلی لائیں بصورت دیگر ملک تباہی کی طرف جائے گا ۔ قوم بغاوت کر دے گی کیونکہ لوگ بھوکوں مر رہے ہیں ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ شاید امریکہ بھی یہی چاہتا ہے کہ ملک میں خانہ جنگی ہو ۔ فلسطین کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے حمید گل نے کہا کہ وہاں حماس نے دوتہائی اکثریت حاصل کر لی تھی لیکن امریکہ نے محمود عباس کو قائم رکھا اور پرویز مشرف کی حیثیت بھی وہی ہے ۔ حمید گل نے کہا کہ وقت آ گیا ہے کہ قوم اور لیڈران ان معاہدات کو منظر عام پر لانے کا مطالبہ کریں تاکہ پتہ چلے کہ ہم کہاں کھڑے ہیں ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ امریکہ کو اپنی امداد کا دکھ ہے تو اسے پاکستان کی قربانیوں کو بھی دیکھنا چاہئے کیا ہمارا خون اتنا ہی سستا ہے کہ امریکہ اس کو پس پشت ڈال دے ۔ اگر امریکہ امداد کا حساب مانگتا ہے تو ہمیں بھی اپنے جوانوں کے خون کا حساب مانگنا چاہئے ۔ لیڈران کو امریکہ قتل کروا دیتا ہے ۔ آزادی کو سلب کر لیا جاتا ہے ۔ پارلیمان کو محدود رکھا جاتا ہے اور ہماری فوج کو استعمال کیا جاتا ہے کیا اس سب کا کوئی حساب نہیں ہے ۔

قائدین ججز کی بحالی کے بارے میں کمیٹی کے سفارشات کی روشنی میں حتمی فیصلہ کریں گے ۔ یوسف رضا گیلانی

اسلام آباد ۔ وزیر اعظم سید یوسف رضا گیلانی نے کہا ہے کہ ججز کی بحالی کے بارے میں کمیٹی نے اپنی سفارشات مکمل کرلی ہیں ۔آصف علی زرداری اور میاں نواز شریف ان سفارشات کی روشنی میں حتمی فیصلہ کریں گے ۔حکومت قومی مفاہمت پر یقین رکھتی ہے ۔ ماضی کی غلطیوں کو نہیں دوہرایا جائے گا ۔ ملک کو ترقی ، خوشحالی کی راہ پر گامزن کریں گے ۔ تمام اداروں کے استحکام پر یقین رکھتے ہیں ۔ وزیر اعظم سید یوسف رضا گیلانی نے کہاہے کہ ملک میں امن وامان کی بحالی کو اولین ترجیح دی جا رہی ہے۔ کیونکہ اس کے بغیر معاشی ترقی کی رفتار تیز نہیں کی جاسکتی۔ جمعرات کو یہاں نیشنل سکول آف پبلک پالیسی کے 88 ویں کورس کے شرکاء سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے وزیر اعظم نے کہاکہ حکومت تین نکاتی جامع پالیسی پر عمل پیرا ہے تاکہ عوام کو دہشت گردی اور انتہا پسندی کی لعنت سے نجات مل سکے اور ملک میں سرمایہ کاری اور سماجی اور اقتصادی ترقی کے لیے ساز کار ماحول فراہم کیا جا سکے ۔ وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ عوام کو اشیاء ضروریہ کی قلت ، مہنگائی اور پانی اور توانائی کے بحرانوں کا سامنا ہے ۔آٹے اور گندم کی قلت کو دور کرنے کے لئے حکومت نے ہنگامی طورپر پانچ لاکھ ٹن گندم درآمد کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے تاکہ لوگو ںکو کم نرخوں پر اس کی دستیابی کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔ توانائی کی اہمیت اجاگر کرتے ہوئے وزیراعظم نے کہاکہ اس بحران پر کم سے کم وقت میں قابو پانے کے لیے تمام متعلقہ افراد کو دعوت دی جائے گی۔وزیر اعظم توانائی کے بحران سے ہماری سماجی اور معاشی ترقی اور سٹرکچر کو خطرات لاحق ہیں ۔ اس مسئلہ کو ہنگامی بنیادوں پر حل کرنے کیلئے اقدامات کیے جارہے ہیں ۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ توانائی کی بچت کی پالیسی بھی اپنائی جائے گی جس کے تحت دکانیں جلد بند کرنا اور پارٹیوں میں چراغاں پر پابندی شامل ہے وزیر اعظم نے کہاکہ حکومت پارلیمنٹ کی بالا دستی 1973 ء کے آئینی کی بحالی اور معزول ججوں کی بحالی پر یقین رکھتی ہے ۔ انہوں نے یقین دلایا کہ اتحادی حکومت ماضی کی غلطیوں کو نہیں دہرائے گی اور ملک میں ترقی اور خوشحالی کے لیے اقدامات کرے گی ۔ مختلف سوالوں کے کے جواب میں انہوں نے کہاکہ حکومت صوبائی خود مختاری چاہتی ہے تاکہ صوبوں کو زیادہ سے زیادہ اختیارات دئیے جا سکیں ۔ انہو ںنے کہاکہ حکومت دس سالہ اقتصادی ترقیاتی پروگرام تیار کرنا چاہتی ہے تاکہ ملک میں اقتصادی استحکام لایا جا سکے ۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ پسماندہ علاقوں پر زیادہ توجہ دی جائے گی تاکہ انہیں ترقی یافتہ علاقوں کے برابر لایا جا سکے۔مختلف سوالوں کا جواب دیتے ہوئے وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ اداروں کے استحکام میں بیوروکریسی کا اہم کردار ہے ۔صوبائی خود مختاری پر یقین رکھتے ہیں ۔ایک سال میں کنکرنٹ لسٹ کو ختم کردیا جائے گا ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اس آئینی اقدام کے نتیجے میں صوبوں کو مزید اختیار ات حاصل ہو نگے ۔جلد ہی قومی مشاورت کے ذریعے نئے قومی مالیاتی کمیشن ایوارڈ کا اعلان کیا جائے گا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ پسماندہ علاقوں کو ترقی کے لئے خصوصی توجہ دی جارہی ہے ۔ موجودہ حکومت نعروں پر یقین نہیں رکھتی اور نہ ہی اس کی بنیاد پر ملک اور قوم کی تقدیر کو تبدیل کیا جا سکتا ہے ، عملی اقدامات پر یقین رکھتے ہیں ۔وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ بد انتظامی نے بھی اقتصادی مسائل میں اضافہ کیا ہے ۔ملک کو پائیدار ترقی کی راہ پر گامزن کرنا چاہیے ۔ وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ حکومت دس سالہ ترقیاتی پروگرام کے بارے میں وسیع سطح پر مشاورت کرے گی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس دس سالہ پروگرام کے ذریعے معیشت کو مستحکم کیا جائے گا ۔ ایجوکیشن پالیسی میں تبدیلی کے بارے سوال کا جواب دیتے ہوئے وزیر اعظم نے کہا کہ طلبہ یونین کی بحالی تعلیمی شعبے میں اہم تبدیلی ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ اس کے ذریعے طلبہ مثبت سر گرمیوں میں مصروف ہوں گے اور ملک کو نئی قیادت ملے گی تاہم یہ سرگرمیاں ایک محدود سطح پر ہوں گی

اسلام آباد ۔ پاکستان نے کہا ہے کہ ہتھیار چھوڑ کر امن سے رہنے والوں کے ساتھ مذاکرات کیے جارہے ہیں ۔ حکومت پاکستان دہشت گردی اور انتہا پسندی کے خاتمے کے لئے سیاسی سماجی و معاشی بہتری اور فوجی حکمت عملی پر مشتمل پالیسی اختیار کیے ہوئے ہے جسے عالمی برادری کی حمایت حاصل ہے ۔ پاکستان مسئلہ کشمیر کا اقوام متحدہ کی قراردادوں کے مطابق حل چاہتا ہے ۔ گوانتا ناموبے جیل کے امریکی جنرل ہڈ پاکستان میں نہیں ہیں تاہم ان کی اسلام آباد میں تعیناتی پر عوامی جذبات سے آگاہ ہیں ۔ ان خیالا ت کا اظہار دفتر خارجہ کے ترجمان محمد صادق نے جمعرات کو ہفتہ وار پریس بریفنگ کے دوران مختلف سوالات کے جواب دیتے ہوئے کیا ۔ ترجمان دفتر خارجہ کا کہنا تھا کہ دہشت گردی کے خلاف حکومت کی پالیسی تین نکاتی ہے جس میں سیاسی ، سماجی و معاشی بہتری اور فوجی حکمت عملی شامل ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان کا موقف ہے کہ صرف فوجی ایکشن سے دہشت گردی کا خاتمہ ممکن نہیں لہذا حکومت ہتھیار پھینک کر اور تشدد کو ترک کر کے امن سے رہنے کے خواہشمند افراد سے مذاکرات کررہی ہے ۔ انہوں نے تاہم واضح کیا کہ اس پالیسی کے تناظر میں سیکورٹی کی ضروریات کو نظر انداز نہیں کیا جائے گا ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ دہشت گردی کے خلاف ہماری پالیسی واضح ہے اور اسے عالمی برادری کی حمایت حاصل ہے ۔ ایک سوال پر انہوں نے کہا کہ ملکی پالیسیاں چند ہفتوں میں تبدیل نہیں ہوتیں بلکہ ملکی مفاد میں آہستہ آہستہ تبدیلی کی جاتی ہے ۔ ایک سوال پر ترجمان نے واضح کیا کہ حکومت پاکستان مسئلہ کشمیر کا حل اقوام متحدہ کی قراردادوں کے مطابق چاہتی ہے اور پاکستان بھارت اور کشمیریوں کے مذاکرات کے نتیجے میں مسئلہ کا حل ڈھونڈا جا سکتا ہے ۔ انہوں نے ایک سوال کے جواب میں کہا کہ گوانتاناموبے میں تعینات امریکی جنرل ہڈ کی پاکستان میں تعیناتی کی رپورٹ میڈیا میں آئی ہے ۔ وہ اس وقت پاکستان میں نہیں تاہم ان کی یہاں پاکستان میں تعیناتی پر عوامی جذبات سے آگاہ ہیں اور توقع ہے کہ یہ مسئلہ حل کرلیا جائے گا ۔ مغوی پاکستانی سفیر طارق عزیز الدین کے بارے میں انہوں نے بتایا کہ معاملے حساسیت کے پیش نظر وہ زیادہ معلومات دینے سے قاصر ہیں تاہم طارق عزیز الدین خریت سے ہیں اور امید کی جاتی ہے کہ وہ جلد رہا ہو جائیں گے ۔ انہوں نے ایک اور سوال پر کہا کہ پاک امریکہ تعلقات نہ صرف پاکستان بلکہ امرکیہ اور اس خطے کے مفاد میں بھی ہیں ۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ خارجہ پالیسی کا تعین حکومت کرتی ہے اور وزارت خارجہ اس پر عملدرآمد کراتی ہے ۔ افغانستان میں مزید امریکی فوجیوں کی تعیناتی کے سوال پر محمد صادق کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ افغانستان اور امریکہ کا مسئلہ ہے ۔ ممبئی میں پاکستانی سفارتخانے کے لئے بلڈنگ بننے کی رپورٹس پر تبصرہ کرتے ہوئے ترجمان نے بتایا کہ ممبئی میں قونصل خانے کے لئے ابھی کوئی عمارت نہیں لی گئی تاہم بھارت میں پاکستان ہائی کمیشن کی ایک ٹیم جلد جگہ کے حصول کے لئے ممبئی کا دورہ کریگی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان کی طرف سے جناح ہاؤس ممبئی کو حوالے کرنے کی دو خراست ابھی تک موجود ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ جونہی مناسب جگہ یا عمارت ملی پاکستان ممبئی میں قونصل خانہ کھولے گا ۔ بھارت میں ایک اور پاکستانی کی ہلاکت پر انہوں نے بتایا کہ ان کے بارے میں ابھی بہت معلومات حاصل کرنا باقی ہیں کیونکہ ابھی تک یہ معلوم نہیں ہوا کہ وہ بھارت میں کیسے داخل ہوا تاہم امرتسر کی جیل میں قید تھا اور 26اپریل کو بھارت کے ایک ہسپتال میں جاں بحق ہوا ۔ اس کی میت پاکستان لانے کے لئے بھارتی حکام سے رابطے میں ہیں ۔

پاکستان کا کروز میزائل حتف ٨ رعد کا کامیاب تجربہ

پاکستان کروز میزائل ٹیکنالوجی کے حامل ممالک میں سرفہرست آ گیانئے میزائل سے زمین اور سمندر پر سٹریٹجک صلاحیت میں اضافہ ہو گیااسلام آباد۔ پاکستان ان چند ممالک میں شامل ہو گیا ہے جن کے پاس جدید کروز میزائل ٹیکنالوجی موجود ہے۔ جمعرات کے روز پاکستان نے کروز میزائل حتف ٨ رعد کا کامیاب تجربہ کر کے اس ٹیکنالوجی میں اپنی مہارت ثابت کر دیہے ۔ دفاعی ذرائع کے مطابق یہ میزائل خصوصی طور پر فضائی پلیٹ فارم سے فائر کرنے کے لیے تیار کیا گیا ہے ۔ مقامی طور پر تیار کیا جانے والا یہ میزائل 350 کلو میٹر تک اپنے ہدف کو نشانہ بنانے کی صلاحیت رکھتا ہے۔ میزائل کی تیاری سے پاکستان کی زمین اور سمندر پر سٹریٹجک صلاحیت میں مزید اضافہ ہو گیا ہے ۔ یہ بات قابل ذکر ہے کہ کروز میزائل کی ٹیکنالوجی صرف دنیا کے چند ملکوں کے پاس ہے۔ جدید ترین کروز میزائل ریڈار پر نظر نہ آنے کی خصوصی صلاحیت کا حامل ہے ۔ میزائل نچلی پرواز کرنے اور مختلف قسم کے وار ہیڈز کامیابی سے ہدف تک لے جانے کی صلاحیت رکھتا ہے۔ صدر پرویز مشرف اور وزیر اعظم سید یوسف رضا گیلانی نے اس شاندار کامیابی پر سائنسدانوں اور انجینئروں کو مبارکباد دی ہے

پارلیمنٹ کا ڈراپ سین ہونے والا ہے ١٢ مئی کو عدلیہ بحال نہ ہوئی تو حکومت شائد پانچ دن بھی نہ چل سکے ۔مخدوم جاوید ہاشمی

لاہور ۔ مسلم لیگ (ن) کے مرکزی رہنما و رکن قومی اسمبلی مخدوم جاوید ہاشمی نے کہا ہے کہ پارلیمنٹ کا ڈراپ سین ہونے والا ہے اگر عدیہ 12 مئی کو بحال نہ ہوئی تو شائد حکومت مزید پانچ دن بھی نہ چل سک ے۔ ہماری کوشش ہو گی کہ پیپلز پارٹی سے ا تحاد برقرار رہے مگر عدیلہ کی بحالی کیلئے کوئی سمجھوتہ نہیں کریں گے ۔ قوم سے کیا ہوا وعدہ پورا کریں گے اگر معزول ججزاور پی سی او کے تحت کام کرنے والے ججز اکٹھے عدالتوں میں بیٹھے تو قوم مایوسی کے عالم میں سوچن یپر مجبور ہو جائے گی کہ عدلیہ کی بحالی بھی این آر او کے تحت کی گئی ہے ۔ ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے لاہور بار کونسل اور وکلاء ریلی سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا ۔ مخدوم جوید ہاشمی جب خطاب کیلئے مائیک پر آئے تووکلاء نے پجوش انداز میں ان کا اسقبال کیا ان پرپھولوں کی پتیاں نچھاور کی گئی۔ ’’بہادر آدمی جاوید ہاشمی ، ہاشمی تیرے جانثار بے شمار بے شمار ‘‘ کے فلک شگاف نعروں سے بار روم گونجتا رہا ۔ مخدوم جاوید ہاشمی نے کہا کہ 12 مئی کو چیف جسٹس افتخار محمد چوہدری سمیت تمام معزول ججز بحال ہو جائیں گے ۔ تاہم اگر ایسا نہ ہو سکا تو قوم مایوسی کے سمندر میں چلی جائے گی مگر اس سے قبل ہم عدلیہ کی بحالی میں رکاوٹیں پیدا کرنے والوں کو سمندر میں ڈبودیں گے ۔ ہماری ہر ممکن کوشش ہے کہ پیپلز پارٹی کے ساتھ اتحاد برقرار رہے تاہم عدلیہ 2 نومبر والی بحال ہو گی ۔ اس پر کسی قسم کا سمجھوتہ نہیں ہو گا ۔ ہمارا قوم سے بھی یہی وعدہ ہے ہم ڈکٹیٹر کے خلاف سیہ پلائی دیوار بن جائیں گے ۔ ہم انتخابات میں حصہ لیننے کا اصولی فیصلہ کر چکے تھے مگر جمہوریت کی بقاء اور مشرف کے حامیوں کو فری ہینڈ دینے کی بجائے انتخابات میں حصہ لیا ۔ عوام 18 فروری کو جنرل (ر) مشرف کو مسترد کردیا اور وہ بھیگی بلی بن گیا مگر بد قسمتی ہے چند غیر جمہوری سوچوں کے حامل عناصر کے تعاون کے بعد وہ پھر سے مضبوط ہورہا ہے ۔ ماضی میں اسمبلیاں صرف وزارتوں کے چکروںمیں رہی تھیں مگر موجودہ دور میں ایسا نہیں ہو گا گو کہ موجودہ پارلیمنٹ بھی غلام ہے جس کا میں بھی رکن ہوں ۔ اصل طاقت فوج کے پاس ہے یہ ہر دو میں کبھی یحیی ، ایوب ، ضیاء الحق، مشرف کی شکل میں اقتدار پر شب خون مارتے رہے ہیں جو سیاسی جماعت میڈیا کا پریشر برداشت نہیں کر نا چاہتی درحقیقت وہ حقیقی جمہوریت کی عملمدار نہیں ۔ وکلاء اور میڈیا کی طاقت ملک کی ترقی کیلئے خوش بختی کی علامت ہے ۔ عدلیہ کی بحالی کیلئے دوبئی ، انگلینڈ یا اسلام آباد کہیں بھی فیصلہ ہو وکلا ء اور میڈیا کی طاقت سے بد نیت عناصر پہلے ہی خوف کی علامت بن گئی ہے ۔ چور، ڈاکو موجودہ صورتحال میں خوفزدہ ہیں ۔ کالے کوٹ والوں نے جمہوریت کی شمع روشن کرنے کیلئے اپنا خون بھی بہا ہے جو رائیگاں نہیں جائے گا ۔ عدلیہ کی بحالی کے بغیر حقیقی طور پر انتقال عوامی نمائندوں کے سپرد نہیں ہو سکتا ۔ ماضی اس چیز کا گواہ ہے ۔ موجودہ دور میں میاں نواز شریف ہی ایسا لیڈر ہے جو وطن عزیز کو اپنے پاؤں پر کھڑا کر سکتا ہے ۔ قیام پاکستان کے بعد سے ہی فوج اقتدار پر قابض رہی ۔ بیورو کریسی اور وڈیرے اس کے آلہ کار بن گئے ۔ سکندر مرزا جیسے لوگوں نے اسمبلی توڑنے کا اختیار صدر کو دیا جو تاحال ہے ۔ وکلاء کی مضبوط تحریک کے باعث پمریت کمزور ہو رہی ہے ۔ تھوڑی سی مزید جدوجہد سے ملک سے ہمیشہ کیلئے آمریت کا خاتمہ ہو جائے گا ۔ وکلاء رہنماؤں کی جانب سے ججوں کی بحالی کیلئے مسلم لیگ (ن) پر دباؤ اور پی سی او ججوں کی بحالی کی صورت میں مسلم لیگ (ن) کو ججوں کی بحالی کی مخالف سیاسی پارٹیوں کی ساتھی سمجھا جائے گا پر مخدوم جاوید ہاشمی نے کہا کہ وکلاء برادری جس طرح مسلم لیگ (ن) پر دباؤ ڈالتی رہی ہے اسی طرح دوسری سیاسی جماعتوں پر بھی دباؤ ڈالے ۔

اولمپک مشعل ایورسٹ کی چوٹی پر پہنچ گئی

DR. FEHMIDA MIRZA STRESSES FOR RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS FOR PREVENTION OF THALASSEMIA

Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker National Assembly has said that lack of awareness among the masses was the main cause behind the increase in Thalassemia disease in Pakistan. She stressed for raising public awareness for prevention of the dreadful blood disorder. Dr. Fehmida Mirza said this in her message on the World Thalassemia Day being observed today all over the Giobe.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza said that Thalassemia is a genetically blood disorder, which has, affects millions of people around the world and its further proliferation could only be slashed down by avoiding intra-family marriages.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza called upon the Minister of Health to allocate necessary funds for establishment of more Thalassemia Centres to ensure health coverage and blood transfusion services to the deserving patients in both the rural and urban areas of the country. She also appealed to the Non-governmental organizations and philanthropist community to generously donate for establishment of such Centres where deserving Thalassemia patients could undergo clinical care besides having free blood transfusion services. Dr. Mirza also called upon the media to create awareness among masses to stop further proliferation of the blood disorder.

The indigenously developed Ra’ad with a range of 350 kms, has been developed exclusively for launch from Aerial Platforms, it has enabled Pakistan to achieve a greater strategic stand off capability on land and at sea, said an ISPR news release.
The complex Cruise Missile technology on which Raad is based has been developed by only a few countries of the world, thus enabling Pakistan to join the club of Cruise Missile manufacturing countries.
The state of the art Ra’ad Cruise Missile has special stealth capabilities as it is a Low Altitude, Terrain Following Missile with high maneuverability, and can deliver all types of warheads, with great accuracy.
The missile test is part of a continuing process of validating the design parameters of the weapon system.
In an exclusive message, President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani have congratulated the scientists and engineers on their outstanding success.
