باڑہ آپریشن کامیاب رہا ہے:گورنر

صوبہ سرحد کے گورنر اویس احمد غنی کا کہنا ہے کہ تحصیل باڑہ میں شروع کی گئی کارروائی کے حوالے سے مقرر کردہ اہداف پورے ہو رہے ہیں۔ادھر آپریشن کے حوالے سے ایک اٹھارہ رکنی جرگہ لشکرِ اسلام کے سربراہ منگل باغ سے بات چیت کے لیے وادی تیرہ پہنچا ہے۔
پشاور میں صحافیوں سے مختصر بات چیت کرتے ہوئے گورنر اویس احمد غنی نے کہا کہ فرنٹیئر کور، پولیس اور فرنٹیئر کانسٹبلری کی مکمل ہم آہنگی کے ذریعے آپریشن کے تمام اہداف بڑی کامیابی کے ساتھ حاصل کیے جا رہے ہیں۔ان کے بقول اس قسم کی کاروائیاں قبائلی اور صوبہ سرحد کے بندوبستی علاقوں میں جاری رہیں گی۔
دوسری طرف باڑہ میں جاری آپریشن میں جمعہ کو کوئی خاص کارروائی نہیں ہوئی ہے البتہ علاقے کے مختلف قبیلوں پر مشتمل اٹھارہ عمائدین کا ایک جرگہ ملک عمل گل کی سربراہی میں وادی تیراہ پہنچ چکا ہے جہاں انہوں نے لشکرِ اسلام کے سربراہ منگل باغ سے بات چیت شروع کر دی ہے۔
حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ قبائلی عمائدین کے جرگے نے اپنے طور پر پولٹیکل انتظامیہ سے رابطہ کیا تھا کہ آپریشن روک کر اس مسئلے کو مذاکرات کے ذریعے حل کیا جائے تاہم حکومت نے ان سے کہا کہ وہ منگل باغ سے مل کر انہیں اس بات پر رضامند کریں کہ وہ علاقے میں اپنی سرگرمیاں ختم کردیں۔
باڑہ میں جمعہ کو کرفیو برقرار جاری رہا اور بازار اور تما م تعلیمی ادارے بند رہے۔ چھ روز سے جاری آپریشن کے دوران حکومت کا دعوی ہے کہ اس نے بانوے کے قریب افراد کو گرفتار کیا ہے تاہم ان میں کوئی اہم شدت پسند رہنماء اور کمانڈر شامل نہیں ہے۔
ادھرصوبہ سرحد کے انسپکٹر جنرل پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ تحصیل باڑہ میں جاری آپریشن کے سلسلے میں پولیس نےگزشتہ چند دنوں کے دوران ہونے والی مختلف کارروائیوں میں پشاور سے ایک سو پچاس کے قریب مبینہ جرائم پیشہ افراد کو گرفتار کر لیا ہے۔
صوبہ سرحد کے انسپکٹر جنرل پولیس ملک نوید نے جمعہ کو پشاور میں ایک بریفنگ کے دوران بتایا کہ حکومت نے صوبے سے جرائم پیشہ افراد کے خاتمے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ انہوں نے ایک بار پھر اس بات پر زور دیا کہ یہ کاروائی کسی مبینہ شدت پسند تنظیم یا فرد کے خلاف نہیں کی جارہی ہے۔

SC takes suo moto notice of death sentence abolition

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Doggar has taken suo moto notice of the government’s decision to scrap capital punishment of 7000 convicts and issued notice to the government. The apex court has directed the Federal Secretary of Law, Secretary Interior and Attorney General of Pakistan to file their reply within seven days. The learned Chief Justice of Pakistan has issued directives that the case will be heard from July 14. It is recalled that the federal government has scrapped the death sentence 7000 convicts as per decision of the federal cabinet, despite the opposition by the federal ministry of law.

Al-Qaida issues videotape on Lal Masjid incident

KARACHI : Al-Qaida media cell Ashab on Friday issued a videotape on the first anniversary of ‘Lal Masjid’ incident, in which al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden and other leaders have paid tribute to the people killed in the Lal Masjid tragedy. The videotape sent to ARY One World by Al-Qaida media cell was the first one issued by the organization in Urdu.In the videotape received by ARY One World, Al-Qaida has asked the people of Pakistan to play their role in change of existing foreign policy of the country. Videotape includes past messages of Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri and Abu Yahya al-Abbi, in which Ghazi Abdul Rasheed has been termed as Imam-e-Ummat.The leaders of religious and political parties have been criticized in the videotape with the remarks that the religious parties being trapped in conspiracies because of their greed for power. The tape appealed the Muslim countries to wage Jihad against the United States, it has also urged Pakistani tribesmen and Mujahideen to remain united. Al-Qaida network has also claimed responsibility of London attacks in the video. The videotape also includes footage of Al-Qaida operations in various parts of the world.

Gunmen kill 8 policemen in Afghanistan

KANDAHAR: Kandahar's police chief says gunmen have killed eight officers at a checkpoint in southern Afghanistan.Sumanwal Matiullah says the gunmen threw a grenade at the checkpoint before spraying the policemen with gunfire.Matiullah said the attack happened in Kandahar's Panjwayi district late Thursday. One officer was also wounded and two others are missing.He said an investigation was under way.

Top UN official highlights plight of children

KABUL: Nowhere in the world are children suffering as much as in Afghanistan, a top UN official has said.Radhika Coomaraswamy, special representative of the UN Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, told reporters in Kabul that during her six-day visit to Afghanistan she had found that "it takes an Afghan child a very long time to smile." The conflict had killed, maimed and affected an increasing number of children, she said.Coomaraswamy did not give any specific figures but said the number of children exploited by anti-government forces for military purposes had increased over the past few months. Children had also been used as "suicide attackers" by the Taliban, she said."This is a terrible situation. we urge all parties to the conflict, especially anti-government forces, to take measures to prevent the use of children in conflict."Children were also being recruited into the Afghan National Police and pro-government militias, where they were vulnerable to sexual abuse, Coomaraswamy said. "This is illegal and should be eradicated."According to the UN, children have been detained by all the warring parties, but no one knows exactly how many children are being held in detention centres - even those run by US forces and the government.The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) said children were often at even greater risk than those directly involved in the conflict."Children are easy targets. They are especially vulnerable to two insurgent techniques utilised in Iraq and then in Afghanistan: suicide bombings and improvised explosive devices, also called roadside bombs," the UNICEF Child Alert Report 2007 stated.Afghan children have also been killed, wounded, displaced and traumatised by the "intensive use of air power" by international forces, the report said.Over six million students are now enrolled at schools, with almost 40 percent of them girls, according to the Ministry of Education. However, an increasing number of attacks on schools by gunmen associated with Taliban insurgents and other anti-government elements have seriously threatened educational progress.There have been 311 confirmed attacks on schools in the past 18 months, resulting in 84 deaths and 115 injuries (to schoolchildren, teachers and other school employees). Hundreds of schools in insecure areas have had to close, UNICEF reported.Insecurity, conservative attitudes and poverty have denied education to over two million school-age children, mainly in the volatile south and southeastern provinces, aid agencies said.

Six die in India festival stampede

PURI, India: At least six people were trampled to death and dozens injured in a stampede at the annual chariot festival or the Rath Yatra in Orissa on Friday, police said.The accident happened in the temple town of Puri, where some 500,000 people, according to police, had gathered.After the accident, news channels showed images of a limp woman in pink sari being pulled out of the crowd and carried away on a stretcher.

Jammu shutdown extended till July 6

HELD KASHMIR:Rejecting Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's appeal, protesters on Thursday evening decided to extend the Jammu shutdown till July six to press their demand for restoration of land allotment to the Amarnath shrine management.'We will continue our protest shutdown till July 6,'' said Leela Karan, chairman of the Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti, NDTV reported.He said the Congress government had ''ditched'' the people of Jammu and ''humiliated Hindus'' by revoking the May 26 cabinet order, which had granted 40 hectares of forest land in northKashmir to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) for setting up pilgrim facilities.Various groups supporting the shutdown call and demanding restoration of land to the shrine board rejected the chief minister's appeal for peace.

Curfew relaxed in Bara; operation underway

روپے کی قدر تاریخ کی کم ترین سطح پر پہنچ گئی

کراچی ۔ منی مارکیٹ میں جمعرات کو ڈالر کے مقابلے میں روپے کی قدر نئی تاریخی کم ترین سطح پر ریکارڈ ہوئی۔روپے کے مقابلے میں ڈالر کی قیمت خرید 69.82 روپے اور قیمت فروخت69.88 روپے رہی جبکہ ڈیلرز کا کہنا ہے کہ تیل کے بلوں کی ادائیگیوں کی وجہ سے درآمدکنندگان کی جانب سے ڈالر کی طلب اور روپے کی قدر پر دباؤ میں اضافہ ہوا ہے۔منی مارکیٹ میں اس سے قبل 20 مئی کو روپے کے مقابلے میں ڈالر اپنی بلند ترین سطح 69.60 روپے پر ریکارڈ ہوا تھا جس پر اسٹیٹ بنک آف پاکستان کی جانب سے مارکیٹوں میں کی جانیو الی مداخلت سے روپے کی قدر کو کنٹرول کیا گیا تھا۔کرنسی ڈیلروں کے مطابق سرمایہ کاروں کے احساسات منفی ہیں اور کسی اچھی توقعات کی امید نہیں نظر آرہی ہے۔تیل اور خوراک کی قیمتوں میں اضافے کے باعث روپے کی قدر میں سال رواں کے آغاز سے 13.3 فیصد کمی ہوچکی ہے۔روپے کے مقابلے میں جمعرات کو دیگر کرنسیوں میں یورپی یورو ی قیمت خرید 108.5 روپے اور قیمت فروخت108.70 روپے جبکہ برطانوی پاؤنڈ کی قیمت خرید 135.95 روپے اور قیمت فروخت136.15 روپے ریکارڈ ہوئی۔

سوات میں تحریک طالبان شوریٰ نے امن کمیٹی کو حکومت سے مذاکرات کی اجازت دے دی

سوات ۔ سوات میں تحریک طالبان شوریٰ نے امن کمیٹی کو حکومت سے مذاکرات کی اجازت دے دی۔ جبکہ تحصیل کبل میں گرلز اسکول اور دستکاری سینٹر دھماکے سے اڑا دیئے گئے ۔ تحریک طالبان کے امیر بیت اللہ محسود اور سوات طالبان شوریٰ نے امن کمیٹی کو صوبائی حکومت سے مذاکرات کی اجازت دے دی۔ جس کے بعد مزاکرات کا اگلا دور اڑتالیس گھنٹے میں شروع ہونے کی توقع ہے۔ طالبان امن کمیٹی کے رکن علی بخت نے میڈیا سے بات چیت میں کہا کہ عسکریت پسندوں اور حکومت کے درمیان عارضی تعطل کے بعد رابطے دوبارہ بحال ہو گئے ہیں۔ تعطل سے غیر یقینی صورتحال پیدا ہو گئی تھی۔ جس پر حکومت نے مسلسل رابطے کئے۔ تاہم شوریٰ اجلاس میں ایک بار پھر مذاکرات شروع کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا گیا۔ امن معاہدے کے بعد سے اب تک اٹھارہ طالبان رہا کئے جا چکے ہیں جبکہ پینتالیس طالبان کی رہائی باقی ہے حکومت نے جن کی ضمانت پر رہائی کا اعلان کیا تھا ۔اس سے پہلے تحریک البان سوات کے ترجمان حاجی مسلم خان نے نجی ٹی وی سے بات چیت میں کہا کہ سوات میں جب تک سیکورٹی فورسز کا ایک سپاہی بھی موجود ہے سوات میں قیام امن ممکن نہیں۔ ان کا کہنا تھا سرحد حکومت اگر سوات امن معاہدہ قائم رکھنا چاہتی ہے تو کارکنوں کو رہا اور فوج کی واپسی کا عمل شروع کرے۔ دوسری جانب سوات کی تحصیل کبل کے علاقے گاڑو میں گرلز اسکول اور خواتین کا دستکاری سینٹر دھماکے سے اڑا دیا گیا۔ ادھر سمبٹ کے علاقے میں اسکول کے سامنے نصب بم ناکارہ بنا دیا گیا۔

اسلام آباد ۔ وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب میاں محمد شہباز شریف نے کہا ہے کہ ہمیں احساس ہے کہ پیٹرول اور گیس کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ عوام پر بجلی بن کر گر رہا ہے پچھلے آٹھ سالہ دورہ کے اخراجات کا نتیجہ ہے کہ عوام غربت ،مہنگائی ،بے روزگاری اور دیگر مسائل میں گھرے ہوئے ہیں سازشوں اور چالبازیوں کا ڈٹ کر مقابلہ کیا جائے گا مریڑ چوک سے فیض آباد تک فلائی آور کے منصوبے کے حوالے سے کام شروع کر دیا گیا ہے جمعرات کو پنجاب ہاؤس اسلام آباد میں سینئر کالم نگاروں اور مدیروں سے بات چیت کر تے ہوئے وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب نے کہا کہ عدلیہ کی بحالی ہی سے معاشی،سماجی ،معاشرتی مسائل حل ہو سکتے ہیں ملک میں ہمیشہ بالادست طبقے کو انصاف ملتا رہا ہے جبکہ یہ طبقہ انصاف کو خریدتا ہے آزاد عدلیہ کی بحالی سے عام آدمی کو انصاف کی فراہمی مختص ہو گا انہو ںنے کہا کہ اس حوالے سے کوئی کنفوژن نہیں ہے ہم اس بارے میں سولہ کروڑ عوام کے ساتھ کھڑے ہیں وفاق میں اگر ہماری حکومت ہو تی تو اس مسئلے کو حل کر چکے ہوتے بدقسمتی سے اعلان مری کو نظر انداز کر دیا گیا ہے انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ مسلم لیگ ن حکمران اتحاد کو نہیں چھوڑ رہی ہے ساٹھ سالہ تاریخ میں پہلی مرتبہ حکمران اتحاد قائم ہوا ہے حکمران اتحاد کو قائد رہنا چاہیے ورنہ جمہوریت کو نقصان ہو گا آنے والے حالات پر منفی اثرات مرتب ہو ں گے انہو ںنے کہا کہ اس میں کوئی دورائے نہیں ہے کہ مہنگائی کا طوفان ہے تاہم ساڑھے آٹھ سالوں تک مطلق العنانیت کی وجہ سے بحران پیدا ہوئے گزشتہ پانچ سالوں میں پارلیمنٹ میں کوئی بڑا ایشو زیر بحث نہیں لایا نئی حکومت کو موقع ملنا چاہیے تا کہ وہ اپنے اہداف کے حصول کے حوالے سے ثابت قدم رہے انہو ںنے کہا کہ عوام کی خواہشات کے مطابق حکومت کو نہیں چلایا گیا تو پانچ سال کے بعد ووٹ کے ذریعے عوام ان جماعتوں کے بارے میں اپنا فیصلہ دے دیں گے ججز کی بحالی کے ایشو پر عوام ضرور مایوس ہوئے ہیں تاہم ہم جمہوریت کو پٹری سے نہیں اتارنا چاہتے ایک سوال کے جواب میں وزیر اعلی پنجاب نے کہا کہ خیبر ایجنسی اپوزیشن کے بارے میں مسلم لیگ ن کو اعتماد میں نہیں لیا گیا اس حوالے سے میں اعتماد میں ہو نا چاہیے تھا ہمیں اعتماد میں لیا گیا ہو تا تو اپنی ذمہ داری قبول کر تے تاہم یہ نہیں کہہ سکتے ہیں کہ حکمران اتحاد میں اختلافات بڑھ گئے ہیں انہو ںنے کہا کہ قوم کو اس طرح کے بیانات دے کر دودھ شہد کی نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں دھوکہ نہیں دے سکتے ایک سوال کے جواب میں وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب نے کہا کہ پنجاب حکومت میں عوامی مسائل کے حوالے سے مختلف شعبوں میں اچھے لوگوں کی تلاش ہے انہیں اپنی ٹیم میں شامل کیا جائے

اسلام آباد ۔ معزول چیف جسٹس ،جسٹس افتخار محمد چوہدری نے کہاہے کہ وکلاء کی تحریک ملک میں آئین اور قانون کی بالادستی کیلئے شروع کی گئی ہے اس کو کامیابی سے ہمکنارہونا چاہیے۔ آج سپریم کورٹ بار کے وفد سے ملاقات کرتے ہوئے جسٹس افتخار محمد چوہدری نے کہا کہ وکلاء تحریک اسی صورت میں کامیاب ہو سکتی ہے جب وکلاء اپنے اندر اتحاد پیدا کریں اور مل کر کام کریں انہوں نے کہا کہ وکلاء کو ملک میں آئین کی بحالی کیلئے شروع کی گئی اس تحریک کو منطقی انجام تک پہنچانا ہو گاانہوںنے کہا کہ میں اس تحریک کی قیادت نہیں کر سکتا ہوں کیونکہ میں آج بھی پاکستان کا چیف جسٹس ہوں جس کی وجہ سے آئین کی پاسداری کرتے ہوئے میں قیادت نہیں کر سکتا چیف جسٹس نے کہا کہ اگر مجھے وکلاء تحریک کی قیادت سنبھالنا بھی پڑے تو میں ایسا نہیں کروں گا کیونکہ مجھے موجودہ وکلاء قیادت پر مکمل اعتماد ہے اور مجھے یقین ہے کہ یہ تحریک کامیابی سے ہمکنار ہو گی اور ملک میں آئین وقانون کی بالادستی قائم ہو گی انہوںنے کہا کہ اسی تحریک کے نتیجے میں پاکستان میں آزاد اور خود مختار عدلیہ کا قیام ہو گا اور عوام کو سستا اور فوری انصاف ملے گا

اسلام آباد۔ پاکستان مسلم لیگ(ق) نے حکومت کی 100 روزہ کارکردگی کے بارے میں حقائق نامہ جاری کرتے ہوئے کہاہے کہ عوام سے کیے گئے ایک وعدے کو بھی پورا نہیں کیا گیا ہے ملک میں حکومت اور ا نتظامیہ نام کی کوئی چیز نہیں ہے ۔قیادت کافقدان اور حکمران اتحاد انتشار کا شکار ہے تاہم مسلم لیگ (ق) نے واضح کیا ہے کہ حکومت کو غیر مستحکم کرنے کی کوشش نہیں کی جائے گی ۔ نئی حکومت کو پانچ سالہ آئینی مدت پوری کرنے کا موقع ملنا چاہیے حکمران اتحاد ٹوٹا تو مسلم لیگ (ق) جمہوری و پارلیمانی نظام کے استحکام میں اپنا کرادر ادا کرے گی ۔ان خیالات کا اظہار پاکستان مسلم لیگ(ق) کے قومی اسمبلی میںپارلیمانی لیڈر مخدوم فیصل صالح حیات نے جمعرات کو مسلم لیگ(ق) کی جانب سے 19 صفحات پر مشتمل ’’ حکومت کی سو روزہ دھوکہ دہی ‘‘ پر مبنی حقائق نامہ جار ی کرتے ہوئے پارٹی سیکرٹریٹ میں پریس کانفرنس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ معیشت اوردہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ سمیت تمام شعبوں کے بارے میں سابقہ حکومت کی پالیسیوں کو تسلسل حاصل ہے ۔ ہمارے دور کی اقتصادی ٹیم بیٹھی ہوئی ہے ۔ وزارت داخلہ میں بھی ہمارے دو ر کے افسران تعینات ہیں حکومت کے پہلے دو ماہ میں پٹرول کی قیمت میں 45 فیصد جبکہ ڈیزل کی قیمت میں 66 فیصد اضافہ ہوا ہے ۔ انتخابات کے بعد حکومت کو قائم ہوئے 102 دن ہو چکے ہیںوزیراعظم نے حلف اٹھانے کے بعد پہلے سو دنوں کے حکومتی پروگرام کااعلان کیا تھا انہوں نے کہا کہ سو روزہ کارکردگی سے حکومت کے مزید پونے پانچ سالوں کی کارکردگی کا اندازہ لگایا جاسکتا ہے ۔ ہم نے ماضی سے ہٹ کر انتخابی نتائج کو تسلیم کرنے کی نئی روایت قائم کی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ان سو دنوں میں مسلم لیگ(ق) واضح اور صحیح سمت پر گامزن رہی ۔ اصولوں کی سیاست کو فروغ دیا ۔وزیراعظم کی درخواست پر اپوزیشن نے انہیں اعتماد کا ووٹ دیا جس کا مقصد قوم کو متحد ومنظم کرنا تھا۔ تاکہ حکومت کو قومی ایجنڈے کے حوالے سے اگر کوئی ایجنڈا ہے تو کوئی فکر نہ ہو ۔ اگرچہ کسی سیاسی جماعت کو انتخابات میں واضح مینڈیٹ نہیں ملا ۔ ہماری خواہش ہے کہ حکومت آئینی مدت پوری کرے۔حالانکہ اپوزیشن کے خلاف انتقام کا سلسلہ شروع ہو چکاہے حکومت کے سو دن ناکامیوں پر مشتمل ہیں ۔ عوام کو دھوکہ دیاگیا ‘ قوم مہنگائی کی چکی میں پس رہے ہیں انہوں نے یہاں تک کہا تھا کہ 1999 ء کی قیمتوں کو بحال کیا جائے گا۔ ان جماعتوں کے انتخابی منشور میں بھی عوام سے بڑے بڑے وعدے کیے گئے ہمیں توقع تھی کہ دونوں جماعتیں پہلے بھی حکومتیں کر چکی ہیں معاشی طور پر واضح روڈ میپ اور اس پر عملدرآمد کے لیے موثر میکنزم کا اعلان کریں گی ۔ان جماعتوں نے میثاق جمہوریت کے حوالے سے حکومت سازی کے بارے میں ترجیحات کا اعلان کیا گیا ۔ پارلیمنٹ کو بالادست بنانے کاروڈ میپ بھی اس میں شامل ہے ۔ دونوں جماعتوں نے کہا کہ قوم نے یہی مینڈیٹ دیا ہے کہ دونوں جماعتیں مل کر کام کریں ۔سہانے خوش کن مستقبل کا خواب دکھایا گیا ۔ مری اعلامیہ جاری ہوا ۔ تیس دنوں کی ڈیڈ لائن گزر گئی بعدازاں اعلان مری کو سیاسی بیان قراردے دیا گیا ۔ وزیراعظم نے 24 مارچ کو اپنے انتخاب پرحلف اٹھانے سے قبل ہی اختیار ات کو استعمال کرتے ہوئے ججز کی رہائی کا اعلان کردیا ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان پیپلزپارٹی نے اپنے انتخابی منشور میں روزگار ‘معیشت ‘ماحولیات ‘ توانائی ‘ تعلیم اور مساوات کے حوالے سے اقدامات کرنے کا دعوی کیا ۔ ان کا آغاز تک نہیں ہوا ہے ۔ ہم نے نئے حکمرانوں کو مضبوط اور ساؤنڈ معیشت دی تھی ۔ حکومت کو چیلنج کرتے ہیں افسو س کہ حکومت الزامات کی سیاست کررہی ہے اس قسم کی سیاست سے عوام کے پیٹ نہیں بھرتے۔ قوم بدترین مہنگائی کی لپیٹ میں ہے گورنس نام کی کوئی چیز نہیںہے قومی ایشوز کو پیچھے دھکیل دیا گیا ہے ۔ نان ایشوز کو آگے رکھا جا رہا ہے ۔انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ ان سنگین حالات کے باوجود اپوزیشن ‘ حکومت کو غیر مستحکم کرنے کی کوشش نہیں کرے گی استحکام چاہتے ہیں اپوزیشن حکمرانوں کے لیے مسائل کھڑے نہیں کرے گی حکومت اپنے اہداف کو ترک کر چکی ہے اتحادیوں کی جانب سے اعتماد میں نہ لینے کی بات کی جارہی ہے ۔ وزیر اطلاعات دن میں دس بار بیان دیتی ہیں کہ اتحادیوں کو اعتماد میںلیا گیا تھا۔ کیا یہی قومی مفاہمت ہے اتحادی حکومت اس طرح چلتی ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ کیا حکومت بھی لانگ مارچ ‘ ہڑتالوں ‘ شٹر ڈاؤن میں حصہ لیتی ہے ۔ عوام کے مسائل کو پس پشت ڈال دیا گیاہے ۔ بجٹ میں بارہ فیصد مہنگائی کی شرح مقرر کی گئی تھی مہنگائی کی شرح تیس فیصد سے تجاوز کرچکی ہے ۔ یہ ہمارے نہیں سٹیٹ بنک کے اعداد و شمار ہیں فوڈ آئٹمز کے حوالے سے مہنگائی 22 فیصد تک پہنچ گئی ہے ۔ بدامنی اور بدانتظامی عروج پر ہے ۔ مشیر داخلہ اور سرحد حکومت کے بیانات میں تضاد ہے ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ حکومت سے پوچھنا چاہتے ہیں کہ کیا مذاکرات کا آپشن ناکام ہو گیا ہے جو خیبر ایجنسی میں آپریشن شروع کیا گیا ہے ۔ حکومت براہ راست سبسڈی سے دستبردار ہو چکی ہے وزیر پٹرولیم کے ایک غلط بیان کی وجہ سے سی این جی صارفین کو کروڑوں روپے کا نقصان ہوا ملک پر گھنٹے کی تیزی کی طرف جا رہا ہے ۔ حل نہ کیا گیا تو گہری کھائی سے نہیں نکل سکیںگے۔20 جون کو مسلم لیگ(ن) نے ججز کی تعداد میں اضافے کے حوالے سے قومی اسمبلی میں ووٹ بھی کاسٹ کیا اور اب کہہ رہے ہیں کہ ووٹ نہیں دیا تھا قوم کے ساتھ مذاق ہے ۔ سو روزہ حکومتی پروگرام میں کفایت شعاری اپنانے اور پرتعیش طرز حکمرانی ختم کرنے کا اعلان کیا گیا ۔ وفاقی وزیر اطلاعات سمیت وزراء 16 سو سی سی بڑی گاڑیاں استعمال کررہے ہیں وزیراعظم خود وزیراعظم کے اعلانات کی کھلم کھلا خلاف ورزی کررہے ہیں ۔ 80 رکنی وفد کے ہمراہ سعودی عرب کا دورہ کیا گیا۔ وزیراعظم کے دسمبر تک مزید سولہ غیر ملکی دورے ہوںگے۔وزیراعظم سے پوچھنا چاہتے ہیں کہ کیا عوام کے مسائل حل ہو گئے ہیں جو غیر ملکی دورے پر جا رہے ہیں انہوں نے کہاکہ حکومتی ناکامی کے باوجود حکومت سے مستعفی ہونے کا مطالبہ نہیں کریں گے حکومت سے کہتے ہیں کہ وہ ا پنی ذمہ داری کو نبھائے ، عوام مسائل کا حل چاہتے ہیں ۔ سو دنوں میں عوام کے مسائل میں کئی گنا اضافہ ہوا ہے ۔ البتہ ان سو دنوں میں کیسز ضرور ختم ہوئے ہیں اور اثاثے بحال ہوئے ہیں ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ جمہوریت کا تجربہ کامیاب نہ ہوا تو قوم کے لیے جمہوریت خواب بن کر رہ جائے گی ۔ ہماری حکومت کا حساب کتاب 18 فروری کو ہو گیا تھا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیراعظم واضح طور پر تیار نہیں کیا ان کے پاس اختیارات نہیںہیں ۔ ایوان صدر تو حکومتی امور سے ہٹ چکے ہیں انہوں نے کہا کہ وارننگ دینا چاہتا ہوں کہ ملک تیزی سے تنزلی کی طرف جارہا ہے ۔ دوبارہ آئی ایم ایف پروگرام میں جانے کا خطرہ ہے ۔ اگر ایسا ہوا توخود مختاری طورپر کیا جائے گا۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں مسلم لیگ(ق) کے پارلیمانی لیڈر نے کہاکہ حکومت کو قائم رہنا چاہیے حکمران اتحاد ٹوٹا تو مسلم لیگ(ق) اس کے باوجود کہ اس کا محدود کردار ہے ۔ پارلیمانی نظام کے استحکام میںاپنا کردار ادا کرے گی ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سٹاک مارکیٹ میں 3 ہزار پوائنٹس کا کریش آچکا ہے تاریخ کا بدترین کریش ہے ساڑھے سولہ ارب ڈالر کے زرمبادلہ کے ذخائر کم ہو رہے ہیں ڈالر کی قیمت 60 سے 70 روپے ہو چکی ہے ۔

News channels sign of democratic culture: Ms. Sherry Rehman

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ms. Sherry Rehman said here on Thursday every news channel coming on-air is a responsible outfit and a welcoming sign that a democratic culture is in place. She said this while talking to media during her visit to the office of another News Channel of Geo Television Network “Geo-English.”
Our government is in power for the last about three months and the “Geo English” has got the license, which, Ms. Sherry Rehman noted had not been issued for the last one-and-a-half-year.
Speaking about issuance of license to the new news channel, the Information Minister said this is not a gift from the government, but indeed an integral part of the fundamental rights which we had promised in hundred days programme.
Federal Information Minister said that we have been pursuing a policy of Press freedom and removal of restrictions from the mass media from the very first day.
To a question, she said now the media was free to a great extent and it has to self-regulate.
She said our commitment is about not to put curbs on the media, neither we believe in restrictions on media nor it has been part of our manifesto.
Sherry Rehman said that now the media will have to self regulate and will have to design its own code of conduct.
To become a mature and responsible media, it has to take measures itself and there should be no role of the state in it but only to facilitate the media, the Federal Minister said.
She said in three months period of our government we have fulfilled the commitments beyond the promises we made.
We have removed the black laws of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). Now no one uses PEMRA to block channel, she added.
All the laws related with the media will be enacted with the consultation and inputs by the stakeholder, she said.
Speaking about new news channels, she hoped that the new channels will introduce new tradition of responsible reporting and news processing.
Earlier, the Federal Minister visited the different sections of the news channels and also met with members of its management.

Pakistan peaceful country, no intention to enter into arms race: PM

KARACHI: Pakistan is a peaceful country and has no intention to enter into an arms race in the region. This was announced by Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, here on Thursday. He was speaking as chief guest at the 89th Midshipmen Commissioning Parade at the Pakistan Naval Academy, PNS Rahbar.
The Prime Minister, however, said that Pakistan will maintain a minimum credible deterrence to ensure peace in the region and also to ensure that the ongoing process of the country’s economic development remains uninterrupted.
He also made it clear that the defence needs of the country will always remain a priority and that the government will provide all necessary resources to the armed forces of Pakistan to enable them to modernize themselves and stay in a state of readiness.
He pointed out that the sovereignty and integrity of the country could be well protected when our foreign and national security policies reflect the aspirations of the people.
While subscribing to international obligations, Pakistan desires to promote its national interests as we believe in peaceful co-existence and mutual respect, he added.
Mr. Gilani assured that the government is fully aware of the importance of Pakistan’s maritime potential. “ Therefore, we will continue to meet the requirements of Pakistan Navy in all respects”.
He said recent acquisition of modern platforms, equipment and weapons is an indication of the government’s resolve to better equip our Navy.
The Prime Minister said that advancements in modern technology which are taking place at a fast pace are cost intensive. “ We, therefore, must endeavour to achieve self-reliance; for this purpose we need to promote indigenization and pursue it with greater vigor than ever before.
He stated that Pakistan Navy’s ship-building and sub-marine construction programme, modernization of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works and research and development in various fields of maritime technologies are indeed good omens.
Mr. Gilani pointed out that Pakistan has been in the forefront of the international war on terror. “Being a victim of terrorism ourselves, we condemn terrorism and are committed to defeat it”, he added.
He said that Pakistan believes in the promotion of peace and security in the region and the world at large. It also believes in the freedom of the seas and trade.
The Prime Minister said that we stand committed to international order and stability and that our participation in the Coalition Maritime Campaign Plan(CMPC) reaffirms our strong commitment to regional and global security.
He stated that Pakistan Navy’s participation in the CMPC has enhanced its professional acumen. it has greatly helped in deterring terrorists and checking arms, drugs and human smuggling thereby providing safe environment for smooth maritime economic activity in the region.
Mr. Gilani said that the twice command of Maritime Task Force 150 (CTF 150) by Pakistan Navy is a testimony of our resolve to pursuing international peace and also speaks of the high professional standards of Pakistan Navy.
He stated that Pakistan’s maritime sector by virtue of a long coastline and a vast exclusive economic zone including the extended continental shelf offers immense opportunities towards sustainable economic growth.
The Prime Minister said the development of Gwadar Port and Coastal Highway are the steps in the right direction. However, we will have to go a long way to realize the full potential of our maritime sector and we must not forget that the strategic location of Pakistan can only be exploited to our advantage through the development of this vital sector.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan today stands committed to the war against terrorism alongside the international community.
He said that Pakistan believes in the promotion of peace and security and is committed to international order and stability.
Mr. Gilani observed that Pakistan has been blessed with a unique geo-strategic location at the confluence of three important regions of the world i.e Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia. “This strategic location can only be used to our advantage through the development of maritime sector,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan’s maritime sector by virtue of a long coastline and vast Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) including the Extended Continental Shelf, offers incredibly lucrative opportunities towards sustainable economic growth.
He assured that the government is fully aware of the importance of Pakistan’s maritime potentials and would meet the requirements of Pakistan Navy in all respects.
The Prime Minister urged the passing out officers to strive hard to keep pace with the rapid technological advancements in the domain of modern-day warfare. “Your are expected, not only to live up the glorious traditions of your predecessors but to achieve par excellence in professionalism”, he added.
He also extended his felicitations to the passing out officers particularly those who displayed outstanding performance and won prizes.
In his welcome address Commandant, Pakistan Naval Academy, Commodore Muhammad Tahir highlighted salient features of the training imparted to the cadets at Naval Academy.
He apprised that the current passing out team comprises 67 officers who had undergone two years comprehensive professional, academic and physical training.
The academy has been entrusted with the responsibility of training young cadets from brotherly countries of Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan and Yemen.
Earlier, on arrival at the venue, the chief guest was presented guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent.
Later, the Prime Minister awarded prizes and medals to the winners. Midshipman Waleed Arif was awarded Sword of Honour for his all round best performance.
Cadet Muhammed Ali received Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gold Medal whereas Sub Lieut Ahsan Muhammad was awarded Quaid-e-Azam Gold Medal.
Midshipman Tauseef Ashraf clinched PNA Dirk. Main Top Squadron won the Proficiency Banner.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir, and Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, were also present on the occasion.
