ISLAMABAD: Minister for Law and Justice Farooq H Naek said Tuesday that petition has been prepared to challenge the court verdict disqualifying Mian Nawaz Sharif for the bye elections. Earlier, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in an address said the people were disappointed over the Lahore High Court verdict. The government will challenge the verdict in Supreme Court and will request for postponing the elections in NA-123.Farooq H Naek in a statement in National Assembly said that the proposed constitutional package would be tabled in the parliament after receiving proposals from the coalition partners. Talking to media he said the draft package has already been handed over to all coalition partners for seeking their proposals. The Minister said it would be finalized keeping in view suggestions from the coalition partners. To a question he said so far the party has not received any suggestions from the coalition partners. He said the PPP would welcome suggestions from any side. Answering another question, he said PPP wanted to restore deposed judges as soon as possible but it was against taking any unconstitutional step for the purpose.
