Shahbaz vows to ensure people's rights

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has vowed to ensure provision of due rights to all segments of society. Addressing an open court at his residence in Model Town here Sunday, he said that he would work for the masses as their chief servant. The Chief Minister assured the people of dispensation of justice, elimination of mafias, equal rights to every citizen and ensuring honour and respect of womenfolk. "I will make it sure that even if an influential person commits crime he must be taken to task and I will do stand with helpless and hapless people to protect their rights," he added. During the open court, a large number of people from different cities apprised the Chief Minister about their grievances and he issued on the spot orders. Most of the complaints were about land grabbing, kidnapping, murder and violence against women. The Chief Minister warned the officers concerned to pay heed to the people's complaints otherwise they would have to face the music in case of any leniency in this regard.
