Qazi calls on Nawaz Sharif




LAHORE : A high profile delegation of Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan (JI) headed by its Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad called upon PML-N Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif here at their residence in Raiwind on Saturday. Newly elected Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa his father PML-N leader Sardar Zulfiqar Ahmad Khosa,Raja Zafarul Haq and Sir Anjam Khan while JI leaders Chaudhary Rehmat Elahi,Chaudhary Aslam Saleemi,Hafiz Idrees,Asadullah Bhutto,Liaqat Baloch,Fared Paracha,Mian Maqsood and Hafiz Salman Butt were also present during the meeting.
The leaders of both the parties during three hours long meeting agreed to resolve several current issues including judiciary through parliament.
They also discussed the current political situation of the country after the formation of governments in centre as well as provinces.
According to a statement issued by JI Headquarters Saturday, Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that JI had boycotted the elections to express solidarity with judiciary and to protest the dismissal of judges adding that his party now wanted the new parliament working in accordance with the constitution.
JI Ameer urged PML-N and PPPP to move forward for the sake of democracy as well as to get rid from the dictatorship and assured that they will support government in this regard.
Qazi said that the law and order situation in tribal areas needed more attention from the all democratic parties as some forces were making conspiracies to increase the sectarian clashes in Parachinar area.
Mian Nawaz Sharif and Qazi Hussain agreed to restore the deposed judges within 30 days of formation of Federal Cabinet adding that to counter the alleged conspiracies against democracy and judiciary.
PML-N Chief said that his party will stand firm on his stance for democracy and judiciary. He hoped that after the meeting between him and Asif Ali Zardari to be held within two or three days, their next strategy would be more clear .
