Pakistan starting satellite monitoring of western borders

ISLAMABAD: Federal Advisor for Interior Rehman Malik has said Pakistan is starting satellite monitoring of its western borders from today.

"The database has been prepared and record of every incident will be maintained in future," the Advisor Monday told media.
Advisor to Prime Minister said that no missile was fired by a predator in the evening of June 14 in South Waziristan Agency as reported by the electronic media. The electronic media widely reported that a predator had fired three missiles at Nawaz Kot, Ladha sub-division of Tehsil Makeen, South Waziristan Agency resulting into the death of a civilian.
On these media reports, Advisor Interior, Rehman Malik ordered a fact finding team under the direction of the Prime Minister which was sent to Nawaz Kot to check the authenticity of these media reports. After visiting the site and interaction with the local people, the team confirmed that neither any missile had been fired nor any kind of bombing had taken place as claimed by the media.
Rehman Malik said that such news causes panic and insecurity.
He requested the media to be more responsive and appealed that such news should be verified from Ministry of Interior before reporting.
