ISLAMABAD: Former Chief Minister Punjab,Chaudhary Pervez Elahi Thursday blamed the Punjab government formaking poor security arrangement during the bye-election in variousconstituencies throughout the province. Talking with the media he said that there was very thin deployment of law enforcers at the polling stations which prompted untoward incidents at various places. Pervez Elahi said that during his tenure as Chief Minister he appointed 30,000 policemen and there was no shortage of staff in the force. He said the administration has absolutely failed to ensure fool proof security arrangement . He complained that a number of his party workers were arrested since the start of election campaign and they were still behind the bars. The party will arrange their bails through the courts now, he added. Pervez Elahi blamed that due to poor law and order conditions there was a low turn out during the bye-election. The people preferred to stay at homes fearing occurrence of untoward incidents at the polling stations, he added.
