Prominent politicians invited at PM’s oath-taking; Zardari, Sharif not turned up

ISLAMABAD, Mar 25 : To attend the oath-taking ceremony of new Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, the government invited prominent political leaders from across the divide at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
Those who were sent formal invitations, but did not turn up included PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Muslim League’s leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, JUI Chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman, ANP Chief Asfand Yar Wali, and PML (Q) leaders Ch Shujaat Hussain, Ch Pervaiz Elahi and Hamid Nasir Chatta.
The politicians who attended the ceremony included Pakistan Peoples Party’s Secretary General Jehangir Badar, PPP Secretary Finance Babar Awan, Rehman Malik and Farooq Naik, MQM parliamentary leader Farooq Sattar, MQM deputy parliamentary leader, MNA Khushbakht Shujaat, Nazim Karachi Mustafa Kamal and MNA Manzoor Wattoo.
