Govt to adopt reform-oriented approach: PM




ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said his government would follow a reform-oriented approach to provide relief to common man. Talking to a delegation of notables from Multan at PM House, the Prime Minister said the cabinet had been directed to focus on improving quality of life of the people and take practical steps for increased income generation and employment opportunities.
He mentioned the already announced 100-day programme in this regard aimed at providing relief to common man.
The Prime Minister said the government would give priority to the under-developed areas of the country bringing it at par with developed regions.
He said the government was focusing on increasing power generation in the country.
The delegation congratulated the Prime Minister on receiving unanimous vote of confidence from the National Assembly and hoped that it would strengthen the democratic government.
The Prime Minister was informed that lifting of ban on students and traders unions, increase in minimum wage and wheat support price had been largely acclaimed across the country.
