Exhibition to display rare photographs of Benazir arranged







ISLAMABAD : A two-day exhibition of photographs of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was organized here Wednesday, featuring different modes and styles of her life till December 27, 2007. Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sherry Rehman opened the exhibition in which some rare photographs of the great leader were put on display.
Pakistan Television organized the exhibition at its Headquarters in connection with the birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
PTV arranged the photographs from its archives, manifesting Benazir Bhutto addressing public gatherings on different occasions, speaking at party meetings, talking to foreigners and carrying children.
The rare family photograph of Mohtarma with her husband Asif Ali Zardari and three children was the main attraction for the visitors who took keen interest in each and every photograph and lauded the collection.
A photograph was also displayed when she visited the house of workers of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), injured in October 18, 2007 blast to sympathize with women.
In other photographs which gathered huge attraction, Benazir Bhutto was praying with raised hands for the progress of the country and prosperity of the people, taking oath as Prime Minister, outside a jail after meeting her imprisoned husband, meeting with PML (N) Leader Nawaz Sharif and laying floral wreath at her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s grave.
Paying rich tribute to Benazir Bhutto, Sherry Rehman vowed to complete her mission of democracy and said “we need to highlight shades of Shaheed Benazir’s personality on the occasion of her birth anniversary.”
She said Benazir Bhutto had sacrificed her life for the sake of democracy and she was the chain of four provinces where she was equally popular.
Sherry Rehman said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was not only popular in the country but in the world as well and added she was the leader who gave identity to Pakistan at the international level.
She said ministers and members of National Assembly would visit the exhibition Thursday and asked the PTV administration to open the exhibition for the general public as well.
Besides, former Minister for Education Zobaida Jalal, Managing Direcotr PTV, journalists and a large number of PTV employees visited the exhibition.
