Government committed to ensuring supremacy of parliament: PM

ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Thursday said the government was committed to ensuring the supremacy of parliament in accordance with the constitution.Talking to Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Mohammad Jamali, here at the PM House, the Prime Minister said the government believes in strengthening the state institutions and was taking steps for ensuring freedom of media and independence of judiciary.
Jan Jamali congratulated the Prime Minister on assuming his new responsibilities and expressed confidence that the new democratic set-up would come up to the expectations of the people and work for the strengthening of the democratic institutions.
