ISLAMABAD : The two-day ceremonies of death anniversary of founder chairman of PPP and former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (ZAB) commenced at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh in Larkana district on Thursday.
People from all over the country reached Larkana in large numbers to pay homage to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, PTV reported.
The ceremonies at the mazar include: Quran Khawani, wreath laying by the political leaders, mushaira and screening of a documentary on life and struggle of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Pakistan People’s Party .
Speaker, National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza, President PPP Makhdoom Amin Fahim, federal law minister Farooq H. Naik and several other party leaders have arrived in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to attend the ceremony.
In a message on the eve of anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, co-chairman Pakistan People’s Party Senator Asif Ali Zardari has said the Quaid-e-Awam struggled to modernize Pakistan and created awareness among the masses. His major achievements for the country include the unanimous approval of 1973 Constitution and the nuclear programme.
Asif Ali Zardari said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto believed in dialogue and negotiations for resolving even the most complicated political issues. He led the struggle for democracy and by sacrificing his life he joined the rank of those who will be remembered for ever.
