Coalition govt committed to Peace with India: Nawaz




ISLAMABAD : Former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that irrespective of the domestic compulsions, the new government is committed to peace with India.
Nawaz Sharif in an interview with an India Channel NDTV said that he believed in India-Pak dialogue process. “We laid the foundation by signing the historic Lahore document with Mr Vajpayee for initiating the dialogue process effectively”, he said.
The PMLN head said he was very serious and sincere to resolve all the outstanding issues between the two countries and also move forward the field of economic development adding a good beginning was made during his tenure as Prime Minister.
The phase of composite Pak-India dialogue process was launched in 2004 which was a strong step toward resolving the disputes, he added.
To a question regarding Kashmir dispute, he said there is need to build more confidence to resolve this issue.
He said that both the sides should make a serious resolve for amicable solution of this longstanding issue.
