Haqqani urges a comprehensive strategy to eliminate terrorism

ISLAMABAD : Time is ripe for Pakistan to devise its own strategy to fight and eliminate terrorism from the whole region, Pakistan ambassador designate to USA Hussain Haqqani said Thursday. It is in America’s interest that Pakistan should be allowed to fight terror in its own way as the leadership of the country better know ground realities here as compared to people sitting thousands of miles away and ordering to bomb anywhere without checking the facts, he said.
He said goodwill for democratic forces has already been created in US media,Congress and other important institutions by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and country should take benefit of it.
“ A window of opportunity has already been provided by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to devise our role by ourselves,” he told Aaj TV.
Advisory groups of three American presidential candidates are agreed that if Pakistan made a comprehensive strategy to deal terror in its own way they will extend cooperation to Pakistan, he added.
The only need is to strengthen the institutions and avoid confrontation in the country.Pakistan will never compromise on democracy and supremacy of constitution, he added.
Both Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League (N) are agreed to strengthen democracy and not to indulge in any form of confrontation as it has already weaken democratic forces.
Both the coalition partners are agreed to restore the deposed judges as their reinstatement is an integral part of supremacy of democracy.
