LAHORE : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that a special Cabinet meeting will be held shortly in which all stakeholders will be invited to discuss suggestions to effectively resolve the energy crisis.Addressing MNAs, MPAs and office bearers of Pakistan Peoples Party at the State Guest House here on Saturday, the Prime Minister observed that the coalition government is sincere in resolving all issues facing the country today, with priority to those directly affecting the common man.
He said that the PPP is as committed to the restoration of the deposed judges as the PML-N. “Our objective is the same, we differ only on the modalities,” he added.
The Prime Minister observed that PPP has offered the most sacrifices for the cause of democracy and in the movement to restore the judiciary, with the party’s lawyers and workers even laying down their lives for the cause. He paid tribute to the party’s founder-chairman Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Muhtarma Benazir who were martyred in the cause of democracy.
“PPP is the party that gave the country its constitution, and it is the party that will ensure its protection,” he observed.
Lauding the leadership of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, he said that the PPP is a truly democratic party which is not only firmly entrenched across the length and breadth of the country, it is present across the world wherever there are Pakistanis.
Prime Minister Gilani said that the people of FATA are looking to the new civilian government with hope, and we will resolve their problems and outstanding issues through understanding and dialogue.
“We wish to develop the FATA region and bring economic uplift, peace and prosperity to the local people,” he added.
