Officers of FC, Rangers authorized to check smuggling

ISLAMABAD : The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has entrusted the officers of Frontier Crops (NWFP, Balochistan), and Pakistan Rangers (the Punjab and Sindh) to check smuggling of rice, pulses of all sorts, wheat and wheat products into Afghanistan.
According to a notification issued by the FBR, smuggling of rice, however shall only be checked on any route other than a route declared under section 9 and 10 of the said act.
This notification shall remain in force till May 15, 2008 and thereafter shall automatically stand rescinded, the FBR added.
