Senate body on Human Rights for no haste to abolish FCR
ASSOCIATED PRESS SERVICE
ISLAMABAD : The decision of the new Cabinet to do away with Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) though welcomed is yet ahead of time and history of FATA which would require to be more developed and organized before FCR can be abolished, said Chairman Senate Functional committee on human rights S. M. Zafar.
However, Human Rights Committee of Senate had taken up the issue of FCR and sent its recommendations to the Central Government and the Committee, headed by Justice ® Muhammad Ajmal, S. M Zafar said in press statement issued here Tuesday.
As a first insolvent the suggestions and Committee should be implemented as it removes all draconian and anti human right provisions and yet allows the improved system to operate till the area (FATA) can be assimilated fully into province, he added.
