Pakistan facing different challenges: Sherry Rehman







KARACHI: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ms. Sherry Rehman has said that the country was facing various challenges at international and regional fronts including economic one. She was addressing on the occasion of distribution of tricycle, tri-motorcycle and donation amount cheques among the disabled.
The event was organised by the Disable Welfare Association at the Dr. Pinto Compound, the birth place of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, here on Monday.
Information Minister said that the sacrifice presented by the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto will not go waste.
Ms. Sherry Rehman informed that she she was also born in the Dr. Pinto Compound (Dr. Pinto Nursing Home) and the Dr. Pinto was a very famous doctor that time.
The Federal Minister also raised the slogans “Zinda Hai Bibi, Zinda Hai (Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto is alive).
She said the flag of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), is hoisted in the power corridors after the period of 12 years and we have to provide relief to the down-trodden and deprived factions in the society.
Ms. Sherry Rehman said that the government has designed “the Cash Transfer Scheme” under Benazir Program, for the first in the history of the country.
The Federal Minister said that the dictators have always handed down a weak Pakistan to the PPP.
Ms. Sherry Rehman said our mission is to remain available for the people among them.
The Federal Minister said that in coming days, the PPP Karachi Division led by the PPP Karachi Division President, Syed Faisal Raza Abidi will resolve the problems of the masses.
She said that the message and the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was with us and the government will fulfill every promise it made with the masses.
Ms. Sherry Rehman also advised the Office Bearers of Disabled Welfare Association to present their written application about their problems.
Later, the Federal Minister handed over the keys of the tri-cycles and the tri-motorcycles to the disabled.
Earlier, the President, Disable Welfare Association, Javaid Raees, apprised the gathering about the activities and achievements of the body.
Among others, Advisor to Sindh CM, Rashid Hussain Rabbani and President PPP, Karachi Division, Syed Faisal Raza Abidi also spoke.
Later, the PPP leader, Mirza Ikhtiar Baig announced to establish a museum at Dr. Pinto Compound, where, he apprised the pictures and books about Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto will be displayed.
