SAN FRANCISCO - The Olympic torch arrived here on Tuesday for its only US stop amid a series of protests and calls for a boycott of the Beijing games over China’s human rights record, US media said.
Television networks showed the torch arriving around 4:00 am (1100 GMT), amid intense security one day after the torch was snuffed out in Paris to protect it against demonstrators protesting China’s crackdown in Tibet.
