CDA allots 40 acre land for cricket ground




ISLAMABAD: Assistant Director Sports, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chaudhry Saleem said Saturday that Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allotted 40 acres land for construction of an international standard cricket ground in the federal capital near new Parade Ground.Talking to local media, he said that it is a joint project of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and CDA.The engineers of CDA would build the ground while PCB would bear the expenditure of construction, he added.He said along with cricket ground, commercial plazas, parks, swimming pools and health center would also be built.CDA would get 20% of income profit in all projects from PCB, he added.He said PCB has already released an amount of Rs. 5000,000 to CDA for construction of the ground.The project would be initiated within a year as PCB wants to host the final of Cricket World Cup 2011 on this ground.
