NEW DELHI: India is engaged with Pakistan and Iran to sort out issues relating to Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.Briefing newsmen here on Friday, Indian Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon said the project is economically and commercially viable where supplies are assured. Responding to a question on the project, he said "We continue our discussions both with Iran and with Pakistan."The purpose of the discussion is to "ensure that we have a project which is economically and commercially viable, where supplies are assured and where security of the project is also guaranteed," Menon observed.Bilateral and trilateral meetings are being held "because these are issues which we will all have to solve together," he said. He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be leaving on July 7 for Japan to attend summit of G-8 countries.
