Iqbal, Mashhood elected unopposed as PA Speaker, Dy Speaker

LAHORE : PML-N candidates Rana Muhammad Iqbal and Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan were elected unopposed Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively here on friday. Earlier, PML-Q forward bloc candidates for these slots, Najaf Abbas Sial and Ch Mohammad Arshad Jatt, withdrew their nomination papers.
Former speaker Mohammad Afzal Shai administered the oath to the new Speaker Rana Mohammad Iqbal. Later he assumed his position as the house speaker.
Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal administered oath to the new Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed .
As the session continued, several members speaking on the occasion congratulated the newly elected Speaker and Deputy Speaker, and expressed hope that they would conduct the house in an impartial manner.
