High waves kill eight on SKorean coast

SEOUL - Waves whipped up by sudden high winds swepteight people to their deaths while 14 went missing feared drowned a port on South Korea’s western coast, Yonhap news agency reported on Sunday.
A total of 27 people were rescued, it said. Storms and high winds caused waves to rise and hit the Yellow Sea port of Boryeong Namdo, 115 miles southwest of Seoul. Most of the victims were family vacationers with children.
