Chief Justice constitutes five SC benches for next week




ISLAMABAD : Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar constituted five benches of the Supreme Court for next week commencing from April 7 (Monday) for the hearing of hundreds of cases at Islamabad including election matters and NAB cases besides others.
According to the cause list issued by the fixture department of the Supreme Court for next week, benches comprise of Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Yousuf and Muhammad Farrukh Mehmood (Bench-I).
The other benches are Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi, Justice Ejaz-ul-Hassan Khan and Justice Mian Hamid Farooq (Bench-II), Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice Muhammad Akhtar Shabbir and Justice Zia Pervez (Bench-III) Justice M.Javed Buttar and Justice Syed Sakhi Hussain Bukhari (Bench-VI) and Justice Saiyed Saeed Ashhad and Justice Syed Zawwar Hussain Jaffery (Bench-V).
These benches will hear hundreds of cases including service matters, bail matters, tax matters, election matters, NAB cases and others at Islamabad.
On the directive of the Acting Chief Justice, the fixture department has already mentioned on the top of cause list that “No application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the court. If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case.”
