NA adopts 127 demands for grant worth Rs 1098.849 bln
ISLAMABAD : National Assembly Thursday adopted motions to approve 127 demands for grants worth Rs. 1098.849 billion out of total 179 demands for the fiscal 2009-09. Minister for Finance, Syed Naveed Qamar moved the motions to the House one by one which were adopted with majority vote without discussion as there were no cut motions on these demands for grants.
After approval of these demands, the remaining demands out of the total lay out of Rs. 1339.577 billion demands of grants, would be taken up on upcoming days.
The demands for grants approved Thursday pertained to Defence, Defence Services, Defence Production, Commerce, Culture, Education, Environment, Finance, Food Agriculture and Livestock, Foreign Affairs, Housing and Works, Industries and Production, IT, Railways, Port and Shipping divisions and Information and Broadcasting, National Savings, Pension and Allowance, FBR and some other divisions and departments.
From Friday, the House would take up some of the remaining demands of grants and discuss these demands on opposition’s cut motions.
