Asif Ali Zardari, Balakh Sher Mazari, Ahmed Mukhtar meet PM







ISLAMABAD, Mar 25 : PPP’s Co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari, former caretaker Prime Minister, Balakh Sher Mazari and member of the PPP’s Central Executive Committee, Ahmed Mukhtar met Prime Minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani here at PM House Tuesday evening and congratulated him on assuming the office.
The Prime Minister reiterated that he would strive to live up to the confidence reposed in him by the people and their representatives in the National Assembly.
The task before the government, he said, is the welfare and betterment of the people for which there is consensus among the coalition partners, therefore the government would be able to make a confident beginning.
He said the government would uphold the 1973 constitution which ensures supremacy of Parliament and reiterated government’s belief in the freedom of media and the independence of judiciary.
Earlier, Asif Ali Zardari while referring to the socio-political and economic conditions mentioned that these demand urgent attention for which everybody has to work hard to pave way for improving the quality of the life of the people of Pakistan.
