PM to consult coalition for strategy to provide relief to people

ISLAMABAD, Mar 25 : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said Tuesday the government would consult all the political parties in the ruling coalition for making an effective strategy for providing immediate relief to the people. The Prime Minister was talking to various delegations from different parts of the country including Multan, who called on him at the PM House.
Prime Minister Gilani said that because of the sacrifices of the PPP’s leadership and workers the party was able to emerge as the biggest party in the National Assembly.
He said the new government was facing the challenges of terrorism, inflation and power shortage.
An atmosphere needs to be created in the country which encourages investment, he added.
He said that the broader coalition of PPP, PML-N, ANP, JUI-F, MQM and some independents would soon take measures for successfully meeting these challenges.
The Prime Minister said that he considers the confidence reposed in him by the PPP leadership as a sacred trust and would do his best to come up to their expectations.
The Prime Minister also sought suggestions from the participants regarding development in the country and good governance.
The participants congratulated the Prime Minister and expressed the confidence that his government would improve the provision of civic facilities in the country in addition to improving economic and employment opportunities.
They also briefed the Prime Minister about different issues relating to their constituencies.
The delegation also included MPAs Amir Dogar, Ahmed Hussain Dehar and MNA Nabeel Gabol.
Earlier, the Prime Minister and the various delegation offered fateha for the late PPP Chairperson, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
