CNS confers awards on Naval officers, men

KARACHI, March 26 :The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir here on Wednesday conferred military awards on Pakistan Navy officers and men at an impressive investiture ceremony held at Bahria Auditorium. An ISPR (Navy) statement said that these awards were announced by the Government of Pakistan on Republic Day in recognition of meritorious service, acts of gallantry and exceptional devotion to duty of recipients in their respective fields.
It said that the recipients of Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) are:
Commodore Syed Imdad Imam Jafri, Commodore Farrukh Mahfooz, Commodore Syed Hassan Mustafa, Commodore Khan Hasham Bin Saddique, Commodore Kamran Khan, Commodore Syed Shahab Hamid Hashmi, Commodore Tariq Aziz Adenwala, Commodore Imtiaz Ahmad, Commodore Habib Tariq, Commodore Javaid Manzoor, Commodore Muhammad Amjad Zaman, Commodore Nasim Anwar, Commodore Iftikhar Ahmed Qureshi and Commodore Zafar Mahmood Abbasi.
Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to Cdr Ajaz Ahmad Shah, Cdr Salman Ullah Khan, Cdr Junaid Latif Akhtar, Cdr Naveed Ashraf, Cdr Rahat Ahmad Awan, Cdr Mian Zakriullah Jan, Cdr Shakil Ahmed Siddiqui, Lt Cdr Sarfaraz Afzal, Lt Cdr Mahabat Khan, Lt Cdr Muhammad Shafiq, Lt Cdr Raas Karim, Lt Cdr Naveed Ahmed, Lt Cdr Muhammad Yasin and Lt Cdr Muhammad Akhter.
In addition to these awards, 02 President Efficiency Awards, 05 Tamgha-e-Basalat, 07 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-I, 23 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-11 and 19 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-III were also awarded.
Chief of the Naval Staff Letter of Commendation were presented to 27 officers and men for their excellent performances in their respective trades.
Muhammad Rafiq MEA-II was declared the best sailor of the year 2007 whereas Niaz Muhammad ALM and Muhammad Asif UDC were proclaimed the best civilian employees of the year 2007.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior serving and retired officers of the Armed Forces and families of the award winners.
