Strategy prepared for permanent peace in Karachi: Rehman

ISLAMABAD : Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior A. Rehman Malik Saturday said the government has prepared a strategy to extend support to the Sindh government for maintaining peace in Karachi and the province.
Under the strategy the provincial government would take rigorous measures in curbing the crimes and maintaining law and order,while the federal government would provide its full support in this regard.
Rehman said this while talking to governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad, who called on him here at his office.
He expressed his satisfaction over the measures taken by the provincial government for controlling street and other organised crimes, and said that due to concerted measures of the government the city is again observing routine hustle and bustle.
Rehman welcomed the participation of MQM with Pakistan Peoples Party in provincial set up.
He said the people of Sindh especially trader community has termed it an important development for prosperity of the province and uplift of its people.
Earlier, Governor Sindh lauded the administrative and political services of A. Rehman Malik especially for maintaining peace and law and order in Sindh.
