LAHORE: Land revenue record all over the country would be computerized to ensure transparency, remove public grievances and to bring the country at par with the systems of developed countries like USA and Japan. This was stated by Advisor to Prime Minister for Interior Mr. Rehman Malik while inaugurating NADRA’s ‘e-Sahulat’ project here on Friday.
He said that the computerization data of criminals and health record would also be maintained to overcome flaws of the system.
“Government is striving to provide maximum self employment and business opportunities to enterprising youth of the country and projects like ‘e-Sahulat’ will be a big leap forward in this direction.
He urged the public and private sector organizations to come up with bright ideas like e-Sahulat by NADRA which would definitely help in eradicating poverty and unemployment from the country which are the root causes of all social evils.
While handing over the licenses to around 1200 franchisees of Lahore, Islamabad and Multan regions for first phase of the project, Rehman Malik said that one of the top priorities of the present democratic government is to facilitate the masses using the latest technology.
He promised that present democratic government would keep on bringing innovative ideas to serve the citizens of this country and to contribute towards the uplift of society.
While praising the efforts of NADRA towards the implementation of concept of e-governance he said that NADRA has emerged as one of the largest IT organizations of country.
He said that people had to wait in long queue for hours and hours earlier just to pay their utility bills but now NADRA has brought them the latest technological facilities at their disposal and they can pay their bills conveniently with dignity at the time of their choice using their CNICs.
Rehman Malik further added that with the projects like VITS, KIOS, VERISYS, etc., NADRA is playing a note-worthy role towards the implementation of E-Governance concept in Pakistan and with the introduction of E-Sahulat project, NADRA is moving forward towards accomplishment of its goal which will also help the Government to reduce unemployment rate in the country.
Rehman Malik directed NADRA management to reduce fee for Sahulat project from Rs 25,000 to Rs 20000 and also announced Rs 50,000 award for the NADRA franchises who would show better performance.
While briefing about the e-Sahulat project, Chairman NADRA, Brig ® Saleem Ahmed Moeen said that it was the remarkable popularity of Kiosk project and directions from the Advisor for Interior Rehman Malik which motivated NADRA to launch another vibrant project e-Sahulat. The franchise of e-Sahulat is being offered to motivate and energetic business persons on a prepaid basis.
He said that so far 8 million bills, worth Rs. 6.7 billion have been submitted under NADRA’s Kiosk project which is a testimony of public confidence in NADRA.
He told that NADRA had received as many as 4,403 applications across Pakistan and in the first phase 1,200 franchise licenses have been issued.
He said that NADRA e-Sahulat is particularly designed for low income areas to bring faster market access through an established channel by offering technology and business opportunities in rural areas as well as in cities. NADRA e-Sahulat will enable all concerned to operate as a “Franchisee and provide services through their own personal computers. Chairman NADRA said that e-Sahulat scheme provides a single platform for each citizen enabling use of multiple services through CNIC. The biggest advantage of e-Sahulat is its 24/7 availability. Under the scheme, franchises will collect utility bills, dispense pins for scratch cards (mobile phones, calling cards) and will also be able to carry online verification (VERISYS).
