Normalisation of ties with India, priority of new govt: Haqqani

ISLAMABAD : Hussain Haqqani ambassador-at-large Monday said that the normalisation of the relations with India would be a priority of the new government but unilateral concessions would not be given.
Speaking in a Geo TV programme he said the real issue was that India had such individuals who never thought good for Pakistan, adding there was no person in Pakistan who denied that Kashmir should be made part of Pakistan.
Replying to a question about Pak-US relations he said,” If the US now sabotages the process, we would be able to talk to them at equal terms and would tell them that if they were friends they should refrain from doing so”.
Hussain Haqqani said everyone was ready to accept the supremacy of the parliament, adding the parliamentary system would take roots when the government was fully in charge.
