UAE wants stability, progress in Pakistan



ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani yesterday received messages of congratulations from the UAE President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The messages of congratulations were conveyed yesterday to the new premier by UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi.
While conveying the congratulatory messages to Gilani, the UAE envoy stressed his country's desire to further strengthen political and economic relations with Pakistan.
Al Shamsi said in a statement that his country wanted stability and progress in Pakistan, adding that full cooperation will be extended.
He said that Pakistan's promising market and its potentials would encourage the UAE companies, both from public and private sectors, for investment target of $100 billion in the country, presently stands at more than $20 billion with assets and projects for Karachi to the tune of $50 billion.
