3 dead in Mardan blast

MARDAN: At least three people were killed and more than 35 others injured in a powerful bomb explosion in a market near Mardan city police station on Friday morning.The Sub Inspector Furrukh Saeed, a hotel owner and a child are among the deceased. DPO Tahir Khan said ASI Furrukh Saeed is among the deceased and at least 20 people are injured.According to preliminary reports, the bomb explosion was a car bomb blast and was so powerful that the whole Mardan area heard the blast sound.The security cordon has been put around the blast site. The injured have been transported to the Mardan Hospital, of them, seven are in critical condition.There are at least 13 security personnel and seven passers-by among the injured.A portion of the police station is completely ruined in the blast and at least 15 to 16 shops have been destroyed.
