KARACHI : Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday visited the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to pay homage to Father of the Nation.He laid a floral wreath at the mazar and offered fateha. He also recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book. Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan, Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Rtd) Abdul Qadir Halepota were also present on the occasion.
Talking to newsmen, the Prime Minister said the government can steer the country out of crisis by following the manifesto of the Quaid. “I pledged here at the mazar that we will serve this country. We are the servant of this country and we will be successful in taking this country out of crisis”.
He said he needed the support of the nation, political and democratic forces and the media in this regard. They all are already supporting us, he noted.
The Prime Minister also asked the media to point out the mistakes and guide the government on various issues. The government will consider and take action according to their suggestions as much as possible, he noted.
Gilani said he has come here to pay tributes to Quaid- e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who created the biggest Muslim state in the world. “We are proud of our Quaid. The nation is proud of their Quaid. He had recommended for the rule of law and constitution- abiding citizen. He disciplined the nation. His motto was faith, unity and discipline”, the Prime Minister added.
Quaid- e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah provided us a country while Quaid-e-Awam (Z.A. Bhutto) gave us a path and a consensus Constitution, he said.
“I will also go to the mazar of Quaid-e-Awam and Mohtarama Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to pay homage and offer fateha, because they had served the people of Pakistan by adhering to Quaid-e-Azam’s philosophy and rendered their lives in this process”, he opined.
To a question about the extension in the federal cabinet, he said this decision will be taken in consultation with the coalition partners.
