PM stresses political harmony for people’s uplift




KARACHI : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday stressed on developing political harmony in the country for the social and economic uplift of people. “The politicians need to show political maturity for the betterment of masses,” the Prime Minister said while talking to Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Justice (retd) Abdul Qadir Halepota at Governor House.
This is Prime Minister’s first visit to Karachi after assuming responsibilities of the office.
The Prime Minister said people of Pakistan had high expectations from political leadership and there was a need to come up to their aspirations.
He expressed satisfaction over the process of reconciliation which received great response from political forces as well as business community.
“This process will ensure political and economic stability leading towards development and prosperity,” he observed.
Both Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Abdul Qadir Halepota congratulated the Prime Minister on assuming the office of Prime Minister and winning unanimous confidence in the National Assembly.
They said the process of political reconciliation will help bring change in the quality of life of the people of the country.
They also apprised the Prime Minister about the prevailing socio-economic environment in Sindh province.
