PML-N not to support constitutional amendments to restore judiciary: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Secretary Information of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal said on Thursday his party would not support any constitutional amendment in the parliament to restore the deposed judiciary.
Talking to a private television (GEO News), he said PML-N wanted reinstatement of the deposed judiciary under the Bhurban Declaration as reached between PPP and PML-N.
He said a simple resolution in the parliament and an executive order by the Prime Minister was needed for reinstatement of the deposed judges .
Ahsan Iqbal said it was political will that was needed to resolve the issue.
He linked success of the coalition government with resolution of the judges’ issue, adding in democratic set up, political parties should respect the public sentiments.
Ahsan Iqbal urged PPP to abide by the Bhurban Declaration and end the situation of uncertainty with regard to reinstatement of the deposed judiciary.
