LAHORE — The new PML-N-led coalition in Punjab has reduced the number of ministries from 43 at present to 35, equal to the number of districts in the province.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the PML-N and PPP leaders, who also decided that the PML-N would get 22 and the PPP 13 ministries.
Of the ministries the PML-N would get, one would go to the MMA that is cooperating with the coalition. PPP senior leaders Raja Parvez Ashraf, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Raja Riaz and PML-N leaders Shahbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa and Raja Ashfaq Sarwar attended the meeting. The coalition partners also agreed upon the names of Sardar Dost Mohammed Khosa as Chief Minister of Punjab and Rana Iqbal as Speaker from PML-N.
