DUBAI — Pakistani fast bowler Mohammed Asif will spend at least another two days in detention before it is known whether or not he will be formally charged with drug possession, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official.
Nadeem Akram, Director of Human Resources and Administration, PCB, who is in Dubai to help secure Asif's release, told Khaleej Times yesterday that Asif had appeared before the Public Prosecutor and had his statement recorded.
"However, any announcement in his case has been put off until Sunday since the weekend starts today. A decision is expected to be taken on Sunday when the courts resume," he confirmed.
