Jirga to talk with Mangal Bagh today

LANDI KOTAL: A 35-member tribal Jirga on Monday left for Teerah valley to hold talks with Lashkar-i-Islam chief, Haji Mangal Bagh.The Jirga, headed by Haji Amal Gul, would negotiate with the militant organization chief on an end to sectarian clashes and ongoing military operation in Khyber Agency and restoration of peace in the area.Jirga would also focus on resolving the growing misapprehensions between the government and Lashkar chief in its talks.Menawhile, Jirga members has demanded the government to end Bara operation immediately and withdrawal of paramilitary forces from the area to express its goodwill for the ongoing talks.Earlier, the Jirga members called on Sunday the Political Agent of Khyber Agency and other government officials in Peshawar and discussed the peace restoration steps in the agency.Meanwhile, the clashes between two rival sectarian organizations in Teerah valley come to a halt in view of the initiation of the negotiations by the tribal Jirga. The curfew has also been relaxed in the area in view of the newly developed scenario.Meanwhile, the Bara town also resumed its daily life and the business is in progress in Bara Bazar with all shops open.
