No compromise on Champions Trophy security: ICC

Dubai: The security situation in Pakistan continues to be a concern for the ICC ahead of the Champions Trophy with CEO Haroon Lorgat saying that the cricket's world governing body will not risk holding "one of its tournaments" in any country "not appropriate to play in"."The ICC will not compromise the safety and security of any individual at one of its tournaments and if it is not appropriate to play in any country then we will not do so," Lorgat said in a statement on a day when a deadly suicide attack in Pakistan's capital city of Islamabad left 20 dead.Lorgat confirmed that during the ICC annual conference week here, a security process had been agreed upon for the September tournament spread across Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore."During annual conference week the Chief Executives' Committee and the ICC Board came together to receive a presentation by the security consultants hired to oversee that matter both before and during the ICC Champions Trophy," he said."During the course of that presentation a process was agreed upon to deal with any incidents that may occur between now and the end of the tournament," he added.
