Pakistan to facilitate investors in power sector




ISLAMABAD: Minister for water & power Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the government is fully determined to provide a feasible and simplified procedure for investors to attract more investment in the power sector.
According to Geo news, Mr Ashraf said that the government would be able to generate 6,000 MW of additional electricity to be added to the national grid system by the end of next year.
He stressed the need to complete the task on war footing basis in order to ensure the operation of these plants within the prescribed time frame to eliminate load shedding.
He added that there should be more conducive environment and investor friendly policies to attract investment in the power sector.
He said that it is also the priority of the government to provide electricity to all and steps are being taken in this regard.
