Sherry criticizes delay in by-election




ISLAMABAD, May 5 (APS): Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ms. Sherry Rehman, criticizing delay in the by-election Monday said neither Pakistan Peoples Party nor any of its allies was consulted before this decision.
Talking to journalists here at the Parliament House, she said some undemocratic forces have become active to destabilise democracy in the country.
It may be mentioned here that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that by-election, scheduled to be held in June would now be held on August 18.
Sherry Rehman said the PPP has made preparations for the by-election in the country but suddenly it was announced that the same were delayed for two months.
Sherry Rehman said today meetings were being held in Zardari House to discuss the situation arising out of the ECP decision.
