MIANWALI : Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday inaugurated a state of the art cardiac care and trauma centre here at the District Headquarters Hospital. The trauma centre, completed at a cost of Rs. 5.813 million in record six months time, will help treat the local trauma patients through modern medical and surgical facilities.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister said he was very happy to inaugurate the trauma centre here, as the District Headquarters Hospital, Miawali was inaugurated by his father Makhdoom Almamdar Hussain Gilani in 1955, who at that time was Punjab Health Minister.
He announced a grant of Rs. 35 million for the expansion of District Headquarters Hospital and said the present government was committed to provide best medical and health facilities to masses.
The Prime Minister also announced to provide sui gas facility to Tehsil Piplan, adding, he would talk to the provincial government for initiating the post graduate classes in the Mianwali Girl Degree College.
Prime Minister Gilani said the government’s priorities include strengthening the country in the industrial, agricultural and defence fields.
He said social justice and rule of law were prerequisite to ensuring unhindered development. The Prime Minister said the local skilled and un-skilled people should be given jobs in the Chashma power project.
The Prime Minister appreciated Senator Dr. Akbar Khawaja for his contribution in establishing a trauma centre at the District Headquarters Hospital.
Earlier, the Prime Minister visited various departments of the trauma centre, which has been constructed at an area of 7900 square feet, adjacent to the District Headquarters Hospital.
