Two main gas pipelines blown up in Malguzar, Doli areas




QUETTA, April 27 (APS): Unknown saboteurs blew up two gas pipelines supplying gas to Och power plant and Punjab in two different incidents in Malguzar area of Jaffarabad and Doli area of Dera Bugti districts in the wee hours of Sunday, police sources told Newsagency.
Some unknown men planted explosive device which went off and damaged
18-inches gas pipeline in Malguzar area and supply to Och gas field was suspended
as a result of the blast.
In another incident, explosive device exploded by 30-inches gas pipeline in Doli area and gas supply to Rajanpur, Raheem Yar Khan, Muzaffar Garh and some other areas of Punjab was suspended as a result of the explosion.
Police have registered cases against unknown miscreants. Investigation is in progress.
Meanwhile, Oil and Gas Development Corporation (OGDC) and Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) sources told that they have sent engineers to the sites for repairing the damaged pipelines.
The OGDC sources said that power supply production, however, was not affected due to the blast as the power plant arranged gas supply from its alternate sources.
