Pakistan, Iran resolve issues pertaining to IPI, ink agreement soon




ISLAMABAD, April 28 (APS): Pakistan and Iran on Monday resolved all issues regarding the US 7.5 billion dollars gas pipeline project, paving the bway for inking an agreement soon at a mutually agreed date in Tehran. President Pervez Musharraf and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad expressed satisfaction over the talks, held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr and told the media that the project will help meet future energy needs of Pakistan.
Iran also agreed to provide 1100 MW of electricity to Pakistan to help it overcome the shortage, particularly in areas adjoining Iran.
