PPP to continue dialogue process with all parties: Sherry

KARACHI- Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ms. Sherry Rehman, has said that ‘we believe in negotiations with all the parties’. “ We will continue the process of dialogue with all”, she remarked while talking to mediamen at Karachi Airport on Saturday opon arrival here.
She was replying to a question about the latest up date regarding talks between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
The Minister said “we want a government of reconciliation, the city of Karachi, province of Sindh and the country needs a new beginning.”
She pointed out that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the sake of politics of reconciliation.
She said “we want that there should not be politics of conflict or polarization.”
Sherry Rehman said that in a peaceful environment, the people can be extended more relief.
The Minister said we are in government and the government has to take responsible steps and shun the politics of victimization.
She stated that keeping this in view, it is our responsibility that we should go to the possible extent in this regard.
She said that our efforts would be to keep the political and democratic forces of the country in the process of political engagement.
Sherry Rehman said this is a democratic process which should lead to the betterment of the people and should also result in the tradition of resolving problems through reconciliation.
She pointed out that PPP government has initiated a process of reconciliation which requires spirit of tolerance and that of forget and forgive.
The Minister said that accountability is a must but it should be across the board.
She said, we believe that there should not be politics of victimization or witchhunt.
“ We have to give each other a chance”, Sherry Rehman remarked and said that we will have to take the country forward.
The Minister said that no problem can be resolved through the use of force and PPP is against such an approach.
She said the country is facing a number of problems and if politics of conflict is resorted to then one cannot move ahead and cannot give anything to the people.
“ We are elected people who are accountable and will give something to the people” Sherry Rehman remarked.
When a reporter asked about the progress with regard to restoration of the deposed judges, she said we all are in contact.
The Minister said there is no problem which cannot be resolved through democratic process and with a spirit of reconciliation.
“ Inshallah, we will soon give you a good news”, she further remarked.
