Karachi in grip of hot weather

KARACHI - After three days of oppressive heat and soaring temperature when the temperature was recorded in the range of 40-45 degrees Celsius, Karachiites received some respite yesterday when the mercury dipped to 30 degrees Celsius.
The city recorded 44.5 degrees Celsius on Friday that, according to Met office, was the highest temperature recorded in the month of April in Karachi over the last 61 years.
During the three days of extremely hot and dry weather hundreds of people suffered and needed medical attention while traffic remained thin during day time.
The Met Office said that the city is expected to experience hot and humid weather in coming days with temperature rising to 39 degrees Celsius.
The hottest place in Sindh yesterday was Nawabshah where Mercury shot up to 46 degrees Celsius and according to Met Office it may touch 50 degrees Celsius in next few days.
