PESHAWAR : The NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has urged both the employees and employers to work in harmony for over all progress of organizations imperative for quality product and economic prosperity at the national level.
In his message on the eve of May Day, the Governor said that the teachings of Islam also enshrine dignity and respect of working community and being Muslims we are duty bound to protect the rights of workers.
Following is the complete text of the message of the Governor:
“May Day is commemorated as a universal event across the World to pay homage to the sacrifices rendered by the workers for protection of their rights and up-holding the dignity of labour.
The role of workers in the economic development of any country and social well-being of the respective societies is an established fact. The change in life of developed nations in respect of economic development, whatever we see today, is mainly attributed to the role and contribution of the workers.
The teachings of Islam also enshrine dignity and respect of working community and as Muslims we are duty bound to protect the rights of the workers. With the invention of latest technologies in various fields of life, the concept of knowledge based economy has emerged, therefore, in this highly competitive age not only a congenial relationship between the employees and employers is essential but the need for making constant efforts for capacity building and well-being of the workers has also assumed a lot of importance.
Providing and ensuring a congenial environment at work places is a must for an enhanced and quality output.
I would stress upon both the employees and employers to work in harmony for the over all progress of their respective organizations which would ultimately lead to ensure economic development and prosperity at the national level.”
